Exploding statue tips

Hi all! I hope this is the right place to post this!

Ive been asked to make a replica of the head of a statue for a film. Normally I'd be fine with this but they want it to explode during a shoot out. I'll be making a mould of the original but im not sure what material i should use for the statue. Ideally something that would shatter well! Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

Clay works pretty well because of it being really strong but like glass if hit in the right way breaks very easily. The second thing is that it’s a beautiful thing when it breaks. You don’t even need to put it in the kiln, just let it dry.
