Small update on the wolf's head...

I crafted a preliminary skull out of foam and I just need to fine tune it a little to get a more fitted look before moulding it.
I think it's a pretty good likeness so far as compared to when I first received the pelt.

I'm still going back and forth on it. Part of my indecision is knowing that I may well have to pay another $200 to get it into the UK. With shipping it brings the total to close to $1k.

Yeah, these swords do get pretty pricey. But they're sure damn nice - I don't regret purchasing mine at all!

Great review. I think my mind is made up. I gotta have one! I'll be watching your scabbard build with interest, though I may still favour building one that is a little more traditional looking.

Lol I just weighed it on my scale - it's 9 lbs (4.1 kg).

The sword is made entirely out of various metals and wood. The neat thing about this sword compared to most of Valyrian Steel's other swords is this version of Ice is a full tang sword; whereas the others are not.

I just wanted to let you and others know... I like you bought into their claim that the sword is of a full tang construction. That's total BS.

Earlier this week I picked ice up to rewatch some old episodes of GoT and put a light cost of oil on the carbon steel blade because I live near the ocean and I didn't want rust. As I picked Ice up to oil the other side, the pommel turned loose. At first I thought that maybe the wood grip had shrunk and that's what allowed the play in the pommel. When I looked closer, I noticed the nub of the 'tang' which is supposed to be peened to the pommel to hold everything together... Was turning as well!!

It turns out that 'tang' nub is just a decorative cap set into the hollow pommel. After turning the pommel I was presented with a threaded rat tail tang Rod that extends into the wood grip by several inches... I am so upset right now :-(
