I think it is would be a vote of no confidence if you were to carry that flotation device on the plan while you travel to the conference. Even better if you were to wear the clothing and gear when poor Gilligan set out on his ill fated cruise.

well the hat came in today. I took a risk and ordered one from the bobdenver.com site and it came in today!

SO, conference was last week. It was the 40th annual session of the American Student Dental Association.
Unfortunately my camera flash decided to play hard to get and some of the pictures are crappy but...

It was a blast, and it was nice to be recognized in a costume by the norms. I was surprised how many recognized the quality of it as well.

My favorite moment of the night was when we crashed a bar post dance. The band that was performing was between songs and one of the members said "Holy ***** its Gilligan." To which the lead singer replied, "He finally got off the Island." Course my like of this moment might also correspond to my blood alcohol level at the time.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but thanks to it I was finally able to locate a replacement hat for a puppet that wore a hat I got when I was 11 years old (I'm 39 now). I needed several of them for a show I'm doing and knew that the ones on BobDenver.com weren't quite right and that bucket hats and sailor caps were completely wrong...

But I have never heard the name "Australian Tennis Hat" to describe it before. Success!
