EDIT:

For those of you who said you were interested, I have added a tutorial on how to make the power ring on my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.542275512509271.1073741831.154422997961193&type=1

If you want to see a representation of the ring's actual brightness, check out my work in progress video, which shows the ring just after I added the epoxy putty to give it its basic shape: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=506939139376242&set=vb.154422997961193&type=3&theater

I hope to see a bright new Corps at DragonCon 2014!

Hello RPF!

I am a recent lurker to this site. Nevertheless, it still provided a lot of inspiration while I was working on finishing my Green Lantern build. You guys rock!

I designed the suit incorporating elements of the Hal Jordan design from the New 52 and the Injustice video game (sooo not a fan of green briefs.)

I debuted it at DragonCon 2013, but I didn't wear it until Sunday, since I was still working on finishing it the hotel room. :facepalm

Everything is made from scratch, except for the boots (bought and customized) and the mask (made by a much more talented friend).

The chest armor has lights on the front and back.

The power ring was hand made and wired by me. It includes a laser cut symbol on top. It is ridiculously bright. (No Photoshop needed.

I definitely have plans to fix up a couple of areas, including adding lights to the shoulders, and additional armor to the arms and legs.

Any thoughts or feedback would be great.

Wow, is the light from the ring really that bright or is it just the photo? Either way, it looks outstanding :thumbsup

That is one of the best, if not the best GL costume I've seen. Love how bright the ring is, really sells it!

As a huge DC comic fan. I have to say and give you the utmost credit for this costume build. Hats off to you sir, great costume. If you're ever able to do a run of those Green Lantern Rings/Gloves.... I would like to be #1 on that list. LoL :thumbsup

Awesome! I'd love to see more as to how you made the ring! It would be a cool addition to any DC lover. Do you have any WIPs of it?

(This is how good your costume is, I thought you were an action figure!)
GREAT Job

I am planning on putting up a tutorial on how I created the power ring, once work slows down. Until then, here is a close up of the final product, just after I sprayed the final clear coat.

When clicking on this I was expecting another cheesy overweight person in a zentai suit that was too tight, BUT this is the BEST version of a GL I've seen so far. GREAT WORK!!!!

Amazing costume. How are you lighting up the symbol? Are you using El Wire?

Yes I'm interested to know as well.

It is honestly the best GL costume I've ever seen. Although I was at D*C and didn't see you!
I've been thinking of doing a GL cosplay for next year...more lights though...almost entirely EL but not sure yet on it.

The costume is great. I might suggest some way to highlight the eyes or make them light up (LEDs behind the mask?). The only possible suggestion. Pants/Boots/Chest all are spot on. Fantastic.

If you don't mind, what did you make the chest out of? I'm thinking of doing a Blue Lantern Corps Flash later this year and was going to use like a pleather fabric or some vinyl perhaps but I like the shine/armor look you have on yours.

Wow! Thanks for all of the amazing feedback on my costume. I really appreciate it!
