How do you feel about superheroes? They are guaranteed crowd pleasers.

I think every third guy will be Indy this year. This'll probably be the year to leave that outfit in the closet.

My thoughts exactly. Plus with Indy IV garnering mixed reviews, I'm thinking better to let things die down.

when you say that monsters aren't really crowd pleasers when it comes to who you hang out with on halloween, what kind of stuff would be a crowd pleaser? This would help us narrow down ideas on what could possibly work for you. Being a large man myself, I have always done horror characters, be it Jason, Leatherface, and even a large monster clown. I did try my hand at an Econo Version of Hagrid from the Harry Potter films as well. Help us out by narrowing down so that we can help you out.

The crowd will likely be non-props folks, students, etc. Varying degrees of geekiness, I expect. I prefer to go as instantly recognizable characters with a costume good enough that people say "That's so cool!!"

Superheroes are great except I hardly have a superhero build.

I'll see if I can dig up an old halloween pic. I'm about 5'9, brown (slightly greying now) hair, average/slim build. Not ripped or anything.
