HalloweenCostumes.com "Back to the Future 2 Light Up Shoes"

That's what I thought. They are at least 1 1/2cm shorter than the v2

Jedi, I'm going to be adding Swooshes to my HC Mags. Any suggestions on what glue to use and how to flatten the lace ridge that will end up under the Swoosh?

Probably use a fabric glue. Use the ironing method for the laces prior to adding the swoosh.

Yes i would like to know also ^. To the size diffrence for 150.00 less and a 1 1/2 cm shorter its no big deal. Most people on the street won't notice.

You take an iron and set it on a high heat setting with steam. Put a white tShirt in between the iron and the shoe (prevents the iron from burning the shoe fabric). Press down very hard whith steam while you push outward from within the shoe. Be careful not to burn yourself. You have to press REALLY hard and work the iron over the laces. This can take quite a few tries.

Thank you! So u think loctite will work for glueing the swoosh

are the electronics in these any better than the v2's? I notice HC.com states battery life of 4 hours, while the 2 pairs of v2's I had never lasted for more than 1 1/2hrs. Has anyones electronics failed in these yet?

imo its very noticeable. The already noticeable "mark poon" style upper half is made even more noticeable on the HC shoes. They look a bit too squashed, but like you said, i suppose for a $150 price difference you can't really complain.

They are identical. Eventually they fail.

You are best of flattening the lace ribs first as much as possible, then glue the swoosh on using loctite. I found that most loctites are fine, such as the brush on one, and the standard liquid or gel. Just don't put too much as you don't want the glue getting onto the grey fabric after you press it down.

If for any reason you do get any blobs of loctite on the grey fabric, you can always try use the loctite glue remover. I found it does work well if you put it on straight away on any glue spills, but this grey fabric is synthetic, so it doesn't always clear it up easily.

I got my Mags today with a letter from the site saying about a free t shirt, but never got the shirt in the box... did anyone get a shirt and have a pic of it?

I got a T shirt with my HC Mags but it's medium sized and I wear a Large and Tall. :( The shirt is white with a logo of a Delorean in black. However the shape of the Delorean is entirely made up of text in the form of the movie title and movie dialogue.

How does slimming down the toebox like that affect fit and feel?

It looks like either it would pinch your toes down or your toes would bulge out the top.

Hi all! I've been a lurker on the forum ever since I found Jedifyfe's vids on Youtube, which whom I commend and salute! Also, it's great to see such an awesome community and hope I can contribute as well. Hopefully I pull the trigger on a pair of V2's soon but I did get through on the 1st run of the HC shoes. I was able to order a second pair as well when they did the preorder and had some time to try them out. I wrote a review on HC's site and thought I'd put part of that in a post here. Some of these are known already but a couple I haven't come across on the forum here...

I've worn these casually and have gotten many compliments, even people yelling "Back to the Future!" and taking pics! Initially, it's tough to get your foot in since the elastic laces aren't adjustable but 2 or 3 wears makes them easier to put on and off.

Some tips for the shoes I found when I wore mine for Halloween...

1. Switch the left and right buckle so the straps are inside; it gives a cleaner look to the shoe.

2. Make sure the clicker part of the button is facing against the gray fabric of the shoe. When you strap it up, the white buckle becomes the button. Then you just put your thumb inside the shoe and your other fingers on the outside of the buckle to easily turn them on/off like in my video! http://youtu.be/T_GehdlyDsk

3. The charging times are actually in the item description above! (30 min charge for 4 hours duration)

4. The charging cable that is supplied actually splits to charge both shoes. I placed each wire in my pants and fed them through the inner holes and connected to the shoes. I had an extra USB extension and plugged it into a 10,000mah charger I kept in my pocket. 10 hours strong and still a full battery on my charger!

5. I put the protectant spray from FootLocker to keep the shoes from getting too wet. I live in Washington state so I've grown accustomed to the rain. I'm going to try the Jason Markk Repel that repels liquids and stains.

6. Keep the velcro away from the tongue. It sticks to it, pulling the fabric and it can't be undone. I fold the strap back to the side and tuck it through the white buckle when I put on the shoe, or put the buckle on after you get your foot in.

I'm really close to preordering. I think $100 is cheap enough to not feel bad about kicking them around.

I'm mostly worried about the HC website claim that the battery is not replaceable and the reputation for the electronics to malfunction and die after a short time wearing the shoe.

Can someone point me to a good remedy for those issues?
