Harvey Dent Bust(bust update page 6)

Re: Harvey Dent Bust

I think its showing a lot of promise but his bad eye looks way to far out from the centre of his face.... almost half an inch I recon. Also the eyelids on the good eye look WAY to flush the eye eyeball itself... They need to be much deeper and the very edge or lip of the eyelids should be thicker...

Keep going you're getting there ;)

Re: Harvey Dent Bust

Hello,

I reworked it to cater to the changes you mentioned Cyberman, let me know what you think?

Re: Harvey Dent Bust

Its definately getting there BUT I still can't see any change in those eyes lol... The good eye doesn't appear to have any tear duct and its still to flat looking. You really need to study how human eyes are formed.. by that I mean not just the eyeball itself but the eyelids and surrounding tissue. These are the hardest parts of the human face to get right but if you crack it you'll be well on your way to acheiving fantastic likenesses.

Re: Harvey Dent Bust

Very very nice work!

The teeth are an acrylic set of 26 (using half), at a place I found online. They do really good prices, so if anyone wondering about good quality teeth for a low cost I'll post the link.

Thanks
Tyler

And yes, please post the link! ^_^

Re: Harvey Dent Bust

That is amazing and the hair looks so realistic..not like it was just glued up there. My wife and I were having a debate on weather his make up was CG, make up or a combo of the 2.

Re: Harvey Dent Bust

I love this bust the detail and the over all out come so far is amazing, very well done

Re: Harvey Dent Bust

That bust is looking spectacular. The work you do is simply amazing. I can't believe how lifelike it looks. Looking very much forward to this when it is finished.

Re: Harvey Dent Bust

That is pretty amazing. Is that just on a styrofoam bust? Are you using anything to keep it propped?

Re: Harvey Dent Bust

This is looking spectacular! I have never been one to collect busts but this one might have to be my first.(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Re: Harvey Dent Bust

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm trying to get it finished today or tomorrow for a molding. After these newer pictures were taken, I went back to the sculpt and adjust some things like the lip, and eye on the Human half. Also added more burnt in decay on the burnt half.
Tie pictured I will include with castings for anyone interested. They look very close in design and color to the films Dent tie.

Comments, etc are welcomed

Re: Harvey Dent Bust

Also, just looking at these pictures, when I was putting the cloth bits on this clay sculpt, I bumped the burnt side eye and its out of alignemnt (then).

Re: Harvey Dent Bust(bust update page 4)

I'm not a sculptor by any stretch of the imagination, & I realize that your pic was taken from a more downward looking angle, but that is really darn good.

The only thing my untrained eye can see is maybe the little "pouch" beneath his eye should be thicker? Also, feel free to COMPLETELY disregard my opinion on this, since I don't really know what the heck I'm talking about.

I guess what I mean to say is: EXCELLENT job. :thumbsup

You do know what you're talking about Nexus and I keep trying to explain that the eyes needs more puffiness underneath... But the sculpt still needs to acheive this IMHO.

Overal it is looking a lot better but for me the mouth now needs a lot of work doing.

Re: Harvey Dent Bust(bust update page 4)

Thank you for the kind words.

I agree with you both. I too see those things better especially via pictures and critique.

I have been tweaking some of the parts mentioned:

Re: Harvey Dent Bust(bust update page 4)

WOW that is amazing!!!

Do you think the jaw line needs to be a little more squared off? Your sculpt has a smooth curve from the chin to the ears...on the ref pic it's got a more "rugged" look...more squared.

But heck...I build r2's...what do I know! It still looks awesome! :thumbsup

Re: Harvey Dent Bust(bust update page 4)

I really don't like critiquing other peoples efforts/works in fear of it offending them.

I really think this could be a tremendously cool piece. The effort is certainly there. The one thing that keeps screwing with me is the size placement of the teeth. I don't know if that's approachable to fix, and if this sounds harsh I totally apologize in advance for saying something. Your progress on this is amazing.
