Hawkeye (tv series)

Gosh, I really wish I never had to see Florence Pugh or hear her phony accent ever again.

Obviously you're entitled to your opinion, but this part I have to say you're dead wrong on. Between working in IT and also doing it in a healthcare setting, I've worked with so many people who born and raised in Russia or some other part of the former Soviet Union. They obviously don't all have the same accent, but more than a few of them sounded exactly like Florence's Yelena. In fact she sounds exactly like Irina, this ER nurse I knew.

I just don’t like her or the character. For a show called Hawkeye, this episode really skimped on the actual Hawkeye story in favor of reminding you that they’ve already filled in the Black Widow role. As for the accent, I totally get that there are different variations and sure, she doesn’t sound like Cate Blanchett “sinking your teeth into those wubble-u’s” in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but I just don’t like hearing her talk. Maybe it’s the fact that we already know her (as well as Rachel Weisz’ and David Harbour’s) character is more than capable of speaking without an accent, but they put on these thick Russian accents anyway, coupled with the typical “haha funny Marvel” dialogue (isn’t it so funny that an assassin made such a big deal out of macaroni haha) makes it seem phony to me. I guess I’m in the minority here, but I’d rather the show keep the focus on Clint and Kate Bishop. There’s been an extraordinary focus on Maya already, now they’re devoting time to more characters in a short season with short episodes and I feel like I’m missing out on good character stuff with Clint.

Addressing her first and last name in the Russian accent multiple times in the conversation was hilarious.
I had an issue with what your saying about the accents in Black Widow for a bit but the comedic payoff - for me- outweighed the need for explanation.

There was a lot about Kate in this episode I thought. I really liked the taking LYFT home after the battle bit too.

There is a lot to tie up in one episode that's for sure .

I believe the point of Yelena and her raving about “macaroni” and “vest pockets” is about her stunted maturity - which Florence plays up perfectly.

They made a point in Black Widow that she was HYPER young when they brought her into the widows, and Pugh is playing that perfectly - emotionally stunted… easy to manipulate.

And I find her just so likeable.

I also liked how Haley played Kate in the scenes… Standing in front of a woman who is talking casually and friendly and clearly dangerous - like a cat with a mouse… and Kate knows she’s the mouse, hoping the cat just F’s off instead of eating her.

As for lack of Clint? He went full Ronin in this ep and all that stuff was great!

Also feels like a show that will feel a lot more even watched all together…

Though I’d like to see a trimmed down edit… cut some of the fat. I enjoyed watching Yelena and Kate but there was def a moment I felt “they need to cut some of this down…the conversation is too “even” paced… the urgency could be amplified losing a few quips

Still top notch for me so far. But I’ve been team Clint since his family’s intro in Ultron, and he’s my fave part of End Game…

Plus I like arrow guys… big Prince of Thieves fan in the 90’s.

I really like this show! Although in the last episode a couple of her bows were strung backwards. Drives me nuts.

Just finished the show.

There's a lot of folks that aren't going to like it, & I'll completely get where they're coming from & the complaints, but I thought it was good.

The finale was fun. I really enjoyed it. There was enough pay off for everyone for me. I think the lead up to it was more fun, though. Oh, and the end credits scene?

At first I thought it was strange that they introduced kingpin just to kill him off quickly in the next episode. Then I realized, it could just have easily been him killing her in that final scene, as we never actually saw what happened.
Not sure if it'll play out, but he had 'armored' clothes in the DD series.

Remember in ep 2 the police wanted Kate to come by in the morning? She never did that and it never came up again.

(oh, I liked the show, lest I forget to say so amid random thoughts and nitpicks)

The wife and I just watched the final episode a hour or so ago and both really liked it. I thought this episode wrapped up most of the threads and created lots of opportunities for the future.

I’ve been team Hawkeye since the first Thor movie. I’m now team Kate as well. Both of them are great in these roles and really work well together.

Not overly crazy about Hawkeye’s new suit, but it is fairly comic accurate. I never was much of a fan of this version of the outfit in the comics either.

Can’t wait for season 2. Not sure who the villain would be, but I’m sure it will be a fun ride. I’m sure a lot of people are rooting for Bullseye, but I’d rather see someone like Boomerang (if he’s not considered a Spidey/Sony character).

I loved every episode, except #2 which was just drawn out with so much talking in my opinion.

In terms of Disney+ shows, this is my second favorite of the live action shows. 1) Wandavision, 2) Hawkeye, 3) Loki, and 4) Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Yeah it left a bad taste in my mouth for them to do him like that, but I’ve looked at the comics that they pulled from for that scene. The scary part about Kingpin is he doesn’t stay down.
