Help: Best Silicone Rubber to Use

Hi All,
I am looking to finally mold up my current creature sculpt. Any suggestions on what silicone rubber to use? I plan on using vagabond 36 XXX for the resin/plastic material. What is a good longlasting silcone rubber?

Thanks

Carl

It depends on how you plan to apply the silicone, (brush up/pour). If you're pouring, I've used a lot of Smooth-On mold max 30 without any trouble.

I will be pouring the silicone. I was just checking there sight. The stuff I was going to try was by Walco materials 3065. No longer made I heard. Is the smooth on max 30 durable for 10-15 casts? Is it good against tearing? I have a few undercuts to deal with. Thanks

I've cast dozens of parts out of a single max 30 mold without problems. It depends how many undercuts you have and how deep they are.
Also, how much time you allow between castings. I use http://www.reynoldsam.com/ but the're right across the street from work for me.
You could also try http://www.silpak.com/silicone-tin-rtv for their brand of silicone.

Most interested to see how this goes.
I have next to no experience casting but am hoping to get into it soon enough. best to learn about these things beforehand :)
