Personally I would go the silicone sculpted suit route. There was a member who is banned now but it was awesome. Sorry but not everybody has the body type to wear spandex lol

Well if you are good at sewin you might consider it. I just bought a spandex from some Chinese supplier on ebay. This is how it looked when i first putted it on.

I didn't really liked the eyes on it. Kinda edited them now. Don't have a picture of that yet.

i recently did my first ever sewing project which was a deadpool mask (picture below) i used fake leather for the dark patches and i think it turned out really well. right now im planing a realistic deadpool not using spandex. im going to get some combat jeans and die them red the sew on the fake leather again for the dark patches. then some sort of jacket either dyed red or bought red sew on the leather again and then under that im going to have a red vest much like wade wilson in xmen origins. trying to go for a realistic merk look. thats how im going about it anyway just some suggestions. personally i dont think spandex deadpools look very good it dosnt suit his bad ass atatude and theres always something comical about spandex no matter what way you wear it lol

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. I have never seen a latex DP costume that I've liked.

i think its that no one is built like him hes a big guy all muscle but in reality a guy of that size in a deadpool outfit looks comical hence why im going for a realistic combat gear type thing. the leather patches instead of just painted material are a start to making it look better and more hard wearing like you would need if you did his job lol

This is a understatement, I'm 6ft3 and 230 and in spandex every little flaw shows up. Just eating a small meal can make your waist go from 32in to 36in and in spandex this is just not something you can hide.

The mask, I finally saw one at SDCC 2011 that I liked, asked the guy where he got it & it was a custom made Luchador (sp) style mask.

The best Deadpool I have ever seen was from flexdesigncostumesDOTcom.

Though I think the legs were over done slightly.

Good luck

its a good looking deadpool for a spandex one. but as your said the upper bits of the legs look silly they go from huge to skinny in a second lol. also he looks spongy i kinda wanna cuddle him lol. kinda looks like Bruce hulked out while wearing the deadpool costume at a party lol

Yeah, that's definitely my favorite Deadpool costume I've seen. That's also a 1,300 dollar muscle suit. So yeah, this guy definitely had the funds to go all out for his cosplay.

I'm currently working on a Deadpool costume myself, though it's going to be mostly spandex based. I started exercising and working out at the beginning of the year. I'm 6'7, in January I weighed 160. I'm now at 185. I've lost a bit of fat (I was getting pretty soft around the belly, years of no exercise and beer will do that :)), and gained a good amount of muscle. While I'm not anything close to a "superhero" build, (actually still quite skinny), I'm confident enough with my body now to rock a spandex suit. I'm going for the more jovial, comic book-ish look. While I doubt it will turn out as impressive as the one above, I'm still confident it's going to kick ass. Besides, I'm working on a budget closer to 400 bucks, not 1,300. :lol

You're right about spandex though, and I'm still nervous about how I'll look in it all. I'll continue exercising and try to bulk up a bit and flatten out my belly more. I've also found that a pair of compression shorts and a compression shirt under spandex will help everything look tighter. ;)

I'm curious to see how your take on Deadpool turns out, it's a unique idea, keep us updated! I'll be sure to post my own thread with my costume once it's finished, aiming for the end of September!

Hello!
I love that Deadpool in the pics above, one of the best I've seen! I just can't afford one of those muscle suits and really enjoy the whole building process. I also think the one my husband and I made came out pretty good, we have two versions so far and are working on a new "redpool" and changing a few parts on the X-Force "greypool." Check out my blog for build tips on both of them or commissions if you're interested. Here's some pics in the meantime:
"Greypool"

"Redpool"

I have a mask in the making as well, and will be building my suit on top of my black airsoft loadout - Adding the red panels atop the UBACS type shirt, since I too am of the body type that wouldn't inflict spandex upon the eyes of the public!

Personally, this is my favorite Deadpool costume that I've ever come across. I'm a noob when it comes to cosplay, but I really want to make a costume similar to this one:
