Hot Toys 1/6 scale Back to the future DeLorean Time Machine - Custom Desert Car

Well I have some 1/6 scale steelies I can dig out and give measurements. I know the tears where pie crust sock and those would not look not look right.

I would give my life to own this... but I am paying my Parents medical bills and house utilities for them so loser me could never have this..(sigh) oh well....... :facepalm

Here's a shot of one of the miniatures; looks about 1/6:

Very nice! Beautiful progress!
I just got mine last week and it's amazing! Love the detail. (although it could use a little bit more, LOL)

$700 huh...? Twice? You are committed!

Honestly - is it more toy-like, or more model/replica-like?

Thanks, I am committed, or will be committed if I don't finish soon. :lol

...Oh, Excellent question! ...it's like 95 percent plastic, so many parts like the doors and hood feel like an oversized toy. It is well built, and has amazing detail. A few things they missed the mark on this but nothing really to complain about. (In other words. I got over it).

To me, this model is a cross between the ILM model and a museum piece. I say that since I always wanted the ILM DeLorean model since I first saw photos of it.

...but too appropriately answer your question, it is by far, the second most expensive toy I ever purchased. The first one being my 2015 Mustang GT! :cool

Ok, I'm finished with this hood box.
I originally meant to do another one to refine some parts. Something tells me I won't have time for it, life and all.
The vintage Pepsi-cola decals I used would not stick worth a damn. So after 10 minutes of practice, I free hand drew the logo with a fine tip permanent red marker.
Boy, talk about disciplining thy hand. First and probably last time I do that. I'm happy with the end results.:D
Here it is. ...and yes, it's still over all a part one car but step by step, I'll get to my goal of a full on part 3 desert car. :cool

The belts will not be strapped under the hood yet. The hood is a bit flimsy and literally folds up on the belts. So not sure wether to finely sand a gap or just cut the belts at the edge of the hood. Soon I'll see which looks better.
Next update will be the wheels...
...to be concluded! ;)

Here are the wheels I talked about. This is for the 1/8 Lindberg hotrod kit. It is about 3.5" diameter about an inch wide. For some reason I thought they had baby moons. The monogram kit may be the one with baby moons.

Have any pics of the car with you (or another person) in the shot?

No, but I'll take one soon and post it. :cool

...a tiny update into the right direction.

Big thanks to Abelugo for helping me with this one. I received this critical piece in fragments.

...with a bit of glue, touch up with a sharpie, and patience, I got it back together. (A few gaps here and there but it will be filled).

This is not the final look!
I still need to fill in some of the holes from the breakage and fill in some outlines to where the cup outline itself seemed a tad large. So every thing here is reference only. That being said, after some work and a new paint job, I believe I can make this Mr. Fusion part work as it looks damn near close to scale.
The bottom black base I have to make a tad shorter. But other than that, this will work great!

...I'm looking forward to dismantling portions of the rear deck to fit the Mr Fusion appropriately. I'll be working on the bottom metal stand to where the black base sits on with slight rear lean.

More coming soon! :cool

Thanks again Abelugo! :D

I love that display case! Reminds me of how the screen used A car was displayed at Universal after it was refurbished.
