Hulkbuster Iron Man Computer modeling

jefffff! my man! that looks awesome :) Hulk buster is such a cool suit, even with all of its various forms its still so interesting. Your helmet looks great and will be very easily unfolded and assembled. If you're still looking for someone to unfold it, my offer still stands.

My 2 cents on choosing an unfolder - Pick one and stay with one. Robo made awesome mk 4/6 suit pieces, but they are all unfolded by various people with different levels of pepakura skills. It makes all the unfolds very different and much harder. I have my own style of unfolding but i like to think its the most user friendly for everyone. Check out JUICE's War machine suit files Here to get an idea of my style :)

hahaha resume submitted!

Keep up the awesome work Jeff

Kagn, I haven't been able to watch it yet. I am at work and the IT guys have blocked Youtube... I will though!

Bimmer.... You are Hired. You seem to be the most interested in helping me unfold and so you got the job. Let me progress a little farther and I will start shooting you some stuff.

Everybody thanx for the input... I SSSSOOOOOOOOOOO look forward to seeing works in progress on this suit.

Heej love this suit, everyone does mark 3-6 these days inlcuding myself :p
the helm keeps looking better and better each update.. as for the torso I don't know if you really worked on it but the upper torso (chest muscles) are to high in my opinion.

you can really see this in the sideview of the bust. the helm is higher (in length) then the torso itself.
good luck and I hope my critisism could help you with the modelling

As I mentioned earlier this WILL be my next build, not sure if I am going to mold this suit like I am doing with the mrk III, depends on the size of the suit and if enough people want copies. supply and demand, LOL

Wow... loganallenwolf That is one of the craziest outfits out there. I love the weathering. I am glad that I am not working on that version, it almost looks steampunkish.

Kagn LOVE the enthusiam!!! I am not sure if I want to get one from you or make my own....

Hey Kagn... sorry if it seems like I fell off the planet. The scale that i am shooting for is 7 ft. That should make the suit big and impressive and hopefully not ridiculous.

Work has been crazy lately, and so I haven't got a amazing amounts of new stuff to show. But I did rework the helmet a little. Straightening the slots on the grill and reworking the face plate. Here are some pics...

Next I am fixing and refining the front Torso

Looking very good! 7 feet sounds workable, that way you will be able to fit through most doors, lol. May have to stand on risers inside the suit, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it

Yea I was thinking that 7 ft was a good workable height. According to my calculations the helmet should add 6 inches to the top and six inch platforms under the shoes should make this suit intimidating and yet practical to be in.

If I drop off of the grid this weekend please understand guys this is my 20th wedding anniversary....

Hey guys...
Well I have started a new thread on this topic because I could not continue to look at the old images of the suit.

I still plan on releasing this model to the community, so that everyone can build it. Dubean has volunteered to work it in Pep, so i just have to get it finished.

So here is my current progression on Hulkbuster. Using the images provided by Kagn, I completely rebuilt the helmet. Staring basically from scratch.

I have another file that has the beginnings of the chest, but I just started developing the shoulder bells. The first picture shows the model in front of the image plane. The second shows just the model

What do you guys think???

looks great! This thing is going to be massive and use lots of paper. Are you building it to a set scale or will i have to figure that out in the unfolding process?

The scale that I am building it to right now is just so that it matches human proportions....

It will use tons of paper and i think that, that is exactly the way i like it!!!! It is Hulkbuster after all....

i was talking with Dungbeetle and he said that the scale is figured out in Pep.

Since this is my first model for pep (not movies or production) I wasn't sure where to worry about scale... Advice from senior modelers here is certainly invited and appreciated!!!! Robo?? others???

got a lil worried, was wondering what happened, glad to see we are still up and running, model is looking KILLER man cant wait to see more bro, glad to see we have bimmer on the build as well.

It is true that the model can be scaled in pep, but i find it so much easier to set the scale within the modeling program. Say you set the suit to be 6 ft in the modeling program, so that when its imported to pepakura, you just have to enter scale of 1.00 to get a 6 ft suit. That way it will be so much simpler to scale to a human body for people who want to build it. Its not a necessity, but everyone seems to have so much trouble with scaling that anyway to make it easier on them is good. :)

Again, great work!

Sorry i didn't post anything yesterday. I had a doctors appointment. I was in a motorcycle accident 2 months ago that gave me three steel plates and 14 screws in my arm. That is when i decided that "I am Iron Man", and led me to eventually find RPF in the pursuit of building my own suit. Doc says things are looking good......

Before I left I worked on the most ANNOYING part of the build so far. I worked on the octagonal plates in the shoulder bell. Each one had to be hand placed one at a time. I have it mostly finished so you should get to see pictures soon. They still require a little bit more work to perfect. Unfortunately Kagn, these heinous little octagons have little edges...

Pics to come

hmm it may be a design element that i put in during the final detail stage by using a stencil template and needle file them in, but they may not be to hard to pep, i mean the shoulders must be twice as big as my head so the little edges may not be so little, lol
