Indiana Jones Forbidden Eye ride journal & map image request

Hey Run Runner,

The Forbidden Eye medallion looks great! You said you picked up a few of these, are you planning on selling any of them?

Cool Temple props everyone. One project I started last year that I have yet to complete is the paper model of the Temple found on the Disney Experience website:
http://www.disneyexperience.com/models/temple_model.php

I got the whole bottom/base area with the room done. I just got to work on the top part with all the rubble and ladders. I haven't touched it in a year though, but I think I will revisit this project again in the very near future.

The cast Medallion you have there is a [smaller?] version of The Amulet of Future Sight One of Several artifacts you have a chance to encounter in the Ride at Disneyland. The amulet can be found in the Observatory of the Future, though the Map suggests that it is much larger (dinner plate size). There IS A JOURNAL on a bench just inside the Temple door. On the right wall there is a Mural depicting the God (androgynous) Mara holding 3 Artifacts representing one of 3 gifts you will receive in the temple, The Bowl of earthly riches, the Jug of eternal life, and the Amulet of future sight. Beneath the mural is a workbench with crates and tools and Dr. Jones Journal with notes concerning the subject of the mural and the makeup of the temple. It was still there when I went 2 days ago and has been there for as long as I can remember. In/near Indy's office is a bulletin board with the full map and all 12 letters giving insight into the history of the temple and the frequent missing tourists.

I posted this on COW a while ago, but I thought it might get better exposure here. I know it's sort of a paper prop, but I figure a journal is more of a prop (though feel free to move this thread if you want mods).

Has anyone made the diary or inserts based on Indiana Jones and The Forbidden Eye ride in Disneyland California? I've never been there myself, but have been reading lots about it online and watching a lot of really dodgy pitch black YouTube vids. lol

I know that there are opened diaries throughout the queing area (3?) as well as letters (12?), but the only diary photo I've managed to find online is this one:

Anyone got any better pictures? I'd really like to make out the writing.

I'm also interested in the map and obelisk sketches:

Looks like the old, no-longer-sold map was heavily based on it:

The above link is the best quality map pic that's been found so far, but it's still not good enough to make out text. Anyone have any scans of the map that was sold back when the ride opened?

Has anyone got any better quality photos of the journals and papers from the ride? I've scoured Google images and Flickr but there's nothing that would let me reproduce the journal entried in my own journal.

When you still search i have both on High Quality

The file associated is not more available :confused

It was posted Dec 15th, 2009, and as stated was good for one week or 100 downloads.

The file is no more. It has ceased to be. The file has expired and has gone to meet it's maker. Bereft of existence, it rests in peace. It is an ex-file.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I am pretty sure you can download my scan of the map. It's a fairly large file, 47.5 megs. This link is supposed to be good for one week or 100 downloads.

And yes, I put a microscopic tell in the map, just in case.

I just recently started looking for a high quality scan of this map, and was wondering if someone could please re-upload this. Thanks!

Okay, here's a small scan, just like the above link. Low-res, to give you an idea of what it looks like. This is taken from one of those Engineering Disney type books. The entire rides queue is part of the map, along with the supposed treasure rooms that we never get to see. The ride's journey is simply notated as "possible hidden entrance to the legendary tunnel of torment". Unfortunately due to the image size in the book, one can only blow this up so big before looking bad.

Next is a quick picture of the map they sold. They 'aged' it and put a big Indiana Jones Logo in the upper right corner. The nice thing is, it's huge.

The back of the map was a bunch of hints on how to 'survive' the ride queue, as well as the Mara alphabet.

If I remember properly, almost all the good props were in the 'office' portion of the queue, and it's hard to stop and get pictures. I tried once and nearly got stampeded over.

Edit: BTW Ash, great album.
Is it possible you can link the scanned field map? If not can you please state the name of the book?

Wow, that’s thirteen years old. I’d forgotten I even posted that. I don’t have the scan anymore. But here, here is something for you.

1997. I know the book was a companion piece to a traveling exhibition that ended in 1998. I bought mine from the art store that used to be above the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disneyland.
