Interviewed J.W. Rinzler; asked him about real size of the LFL archive

Like I said before, the guys shot a lot film on this show - most of which wound up in the archives. I got to use some of it for Lorne's booksigning here in LA and I noticed that some of the imagery they gave me has now wound up in that book. Also, the next issue of Sci-Fi and Fantasy Modeller (the British mag) will also be printing more of those rarely seen photos. That's cool as there is a ton of it that hasn't been seen in many years.

Do you have an insight into why there seems to be a lot of references to the 'bull sign/sign of satan' around that time ? :lol . I have a storyboard where it has been put onto s and in photos where it is scrawalled onto walls . Quite strange.

OH MY God!
There is an IG-88 head in the background!
Was he sent back through time (Terminator style) to kill Luke?

That's not an IG-88 head. Its the outer casing that holds the IG-88 head.

They were also used as drinks dispensers (along with IG-88 heads) in the cantina.

I just so happen to have 9 of these casings if anyone wants one. :)

creepy thought: those skeletons are probably real. (Not the "flesh" on them, though.) Common practice, especially then, was to use real bones for props like this. They were cheaper to buy from medical display suppliers than it would be to make from scratch.

Don't know if they were real, but that theory is true. The bones and all from "The Poltregiest" were all real. Therefore rumors of hauntings and such were rampant on set. :p

Official pub date in s 4/24. Book may be out sooner at stores not honoring release date. It's a wonderful book for OT fans.

I just received mine in the mail today and after a quick flip through, I gotta say that this is really a fantastic book! The pics of the sandtroopers are worth the price alone! Really great stuff!:thumbsup

I noticed in this months Star Wars Insider that Mr.Rinzler is doing articles on Indiana Jones and pulling rare stuff from the archives in the same manner as in his Making of Star Wars book. I can only hope that this bolsters the thought that he is currently looking through the archives for info on the Making of Raiders book he hinted at doing some time ago. It certainly is a good sign, that's for sure.

I checked out the Making of Star Wars book last night at Borders and if the Raiders book (if it comes out) is anything like the Star Wars book, I'll be so very, very happy.

Anyone know when the Making of Empire Strikes Back book is due out?

Mine arrived yesterday. I think is the best reference book since the chronicles. Only downside is the weight. Might have to buy the softcover as well. :lol

And talk about learning new stuff all the time. I now know the story behind about 60 of the storyboards I have, being from the fourth draft script as on pages 333 onwards. :thumbsup . I wondered why they look so different to the ones floating around on Ebay as photocopies.

Mine arrived a while back but I've been away. Been itching to read it.

I've heard horrid rumours that this book maybe revised due to false info in it? Is that true?

Dunno dude. Some chaps on whitearmour.net are saying so. I'll check later :)
Cool book, regardless
