Iron Man Mark VI - second cardboard build - First Time (edited) Movie Short!

Hi there! First of all, congratulations for your awesome build! I bumped with your post while searching for others, and couldn't stop reading and enjoying!

Please, let me ask a question. I've made a Mk VI EVA foam, PVA coated. Now, I'd like to try something different. I'm building in this moment 2 cardboard, fiberglassed helmets, and loved cardboard! Now, I'm thinking in using cardboard in another armor.

The question is: how you strenghten the inside? I got the idea, in your first posts, that you glassed the bucket, but how about the chest and back, for example? Sorry, I couldn't understand if you glassed them or not. Additionally, what you think about rondoing the inside, withouy fiberglass?

Thanks and best regards. Awesome build!

Wow! I havent been here in 2 years and its great to see builders still check this thread out. I have video's on Stealth's Hero tutorials pages in youtube explaining the process. But just in case you cant find them. I use fiberglass mat and cloth to reinforce the entire suit. you have to back the cardboard up with Mat to get the proper strength. and usually 2-3 coats of fiberglass should do it. almost unbrakable.

Thank you so much man! I'll try to find the video! Let's keep building! :)

Have you tried paper maché-ing the armor? My advice would be to paper maché it on the inside, as this would not only strengthen the structure, but you wouldn't have tocworry about making it neat.

Re: Iron Man Mark 6- second cardboard build

Quick question , did use just use the resin itself without the fiber sheets?

Re: Iron Man Mark 6- second cardboard build

Yeah, the first coat goes on the piece then you mat the inside and re-coat.
