With the new Avengers 2 coming up I got really excited and thought I should do another run of my Iron Man MK42/ MK43 helmet. So here we go. I designed the molds to need as little cleanup and trimming as possible, take a look at the pictures to see what I mean. The Master of this helmet was 3d printed with the help of Gimpees original Pepakura file!
Size:
I have a 23 1/2 inches circumference and the helmet is a tight fit. so I recommend this one for a 23 inches circumference if you want to add padding.
Material:
Smooth-on Onyx with fiberglass. Options are with and without Aluminum powder. For those of you who don't know why a metal cold cast is indeed a cool thing: you can give the cast a light sanding which will break the Aluminum particles, giving the cast a metallic shine. Use a dark primer and later sand through the painted layers to get a pretty realistic battle damage look. Sound cool? Note: they grayish casts are aluminum cold casts before giving it a light sanding with a high grit sandpaper. Here a 2 pictures of a plain Onyx cast and a metal cold cast after sanding:
What's included?
You purchase the cast (of course) and one pair of 3d printed eye inserts which are designed to be able to see through them. The thin LED strips to wrap around the inserts are also included. The material is translucent which means that the inserts light up really nicely. I made some of those for customers already in the past and they work fine. You just need some basic soldering knowledge to get these working. I do not offer soldering or wiring these.
Price:
I offer this one all inclusive for 220 USD with worldwide shipping. If you live inside Europe we can talk about a discount. Send me a PM to discuss this.
