Iron man suits wip [mark iii finished - mark vi wip]

compared to resined suits ofcourse it is less durable....
but it is durable according to my test (i try to step on one of the parts and tada!! it doesnt break off)....

besides i dont want to make a suit that's similar to those i've seen before...
and i'm not that rich to buy resin stuff or whatever chemical hardener or what-so-ever you call them....

i like my work...
my father does like it...
my friends like it...

oopps sorry but i didn't mean to offend you with my post. Sorry bout that. But i do think positive criticism is allowed here. Just my 2 cents though.

I belive it is important to give constructive critic. In constructive it means provide info of how you belive it would improve from the existing. Just giving critic is not ideal in any given scenario.

My advice is for you to take ALLOT Longer time to details and clean the surfaces. It will make allot of difference. In regards of replica and props i give this a 5 of 10.
Not saying it is bad, it is a good start and i love to se people beeing creative their own ways, but based on the finish it may look like your cutting corners. The cutting and folding is only the begining. I seen allot try to make a pepakura prop. All seem to cut fold and glue with impressing ressult.

But from that point is were you will be evaluated from the quality of your craft.
The pepakura in its self is allot of work, but hardly any achivement in it self. It is the pepakura file makers who done the main work on makeing a scematic everyone can follow. By using correct paper, cutters and take time folding you will align the numbers and capitals.

It is rare i se good pepakura ressults. I would say Finhead and MaulFett is one to put your standard after. These guys have not cut corner, they took time and skills into perfecting the existing shapes of the pepakura and spent time on sanding, retooling, detailing and sanding again before they painted it. They also made several attempts and several types of pep files and found the ideal sizes and files to make the prop the best.

Nobody is complaining to you about your time invested into the peice. The importance with feedback is for us to learn from the good and the bad and then to try to improve it to achive a better ressult. To achive what the masters of pepakura have managed you need to sit down, be inspired and positive by takeing your existing skills and learning to the next level by takeing double amount of time if not 3 times as much on the final detail and finish prior to paint.

Keep on beeing creative and keep on perfecting your work.

Best regards
John

I think the suit looks great. The reason being is I know it's difficult to find body fillers and such in the Phillipines as my pinoy prop maker friends have shared this problem in the past to me.

Just have fun with it man. Great pep work!

i just didn't like the "i don't care" statement. sometimes we all need to listen because we may not have the answers for everything. besides, we are all here to improve our own work. be positive. people who have improved and became successful are those who knows how take inputs well. alright?

anyways, great job. you're very patient in pepping those stuff and i see that you're improving with every build. keep it up!

Re: Iron man mark 2 suit build wip

as in pure pare ko? no added preservatives? hehehe straight glaze putty after the paper mache?

yes dude...pure glaze putty...

i sun-dried it for 1 week (yeah one week)...
manual sand (using 150 and 120 type sand paper) part per part...
i use a white rubberized textile paint on minor dents...
since it's almost the same texture as the putty and i also sand it to smoothed it...

update...

i removed the plastic tube on the arm because it s*cks...:cry
it hurts when i tried to move with it...

a test fit of my mark 3 battle damaged version (my friends call it battle damaged because of the scratches similar to the movie when the mark 3 flies to gulmira to destroy those jericho missiles.
