Thanks mate.
Ah, the chair… A lot of time spent on that one. My favourite one is the buoy (maybe because it was the first; I don't know.)
Tomorrow will start another one and that concludes (I think) my "model tribute" to the 45th anniversary of JAWS.
There aren't many "open mouth" toy sharks available so I decided to go for this version of CollectA.
As you can see there are several things wrong with this figure starting with the shape of the head (especially on the sides). Also the nose is too pointy and the painting is totally inaccurate. The mouth is the good thing about this model.
About the shape of the head, there's noting I can do but will "round" a bit the nose and paint the shark correctly.
First step was to cut the figure in half (much more difficult than I expected because the body is very massive)
One thing always bugged me about that pier scene. They were fishing with the "Holiday Roast." What holiday in the summer traditionally serves roast beef? Were they making it for the Fourth of July? Later it's said it was in the freezer. How long did they expect to keep it frozen? Christmas?
Painting is done (re-touched the mouth and teeth and gave it a more "menacing look".
Next step: put the shark in the "water".
If all goes well, tomorrow the diorama will be finished.
