Jurassic Park - Let's see what you got?

Re: Jurassic Park Props?

I always loved the barbasol cryo can. When I was a kid I attempted to make one.....did'nt turn out well. My dad was pissed

Re: Jurassic Park Props?

At my haunted attraction, I took the dilophosaurus I got from Dinosaur Josh, drilled through the mouth and added a spitting mechanism.
Customers would walk by the dino paddock...the whole front was covered with shrubs, the bushes would shake, then split apart...revealing the dilo...then the frilled head would shoot forward and spray the patrons.
I also ripped the sounds from Jp and added them to the mechanism.
A friend of mine has video of it...but I never got it from him.

WOW !!! I can't wait to see this finished !!!

Re: Jurassic Park Props?

HOLY COW!?!?!?!?!?
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!?

You actually GOT something from Dino Josh????

The spitting mechanism sounds fun, would love to see the video.
What did you add to the liquid to get the burning sensation 'screen accurate'?

Battery acid and fear:rolleyes...but I did have a sign posted right as you enter the room, that says "safety glasses must be worn at all times in this area"
I smeared great stuff on it and painted the great stuff greenish black.

Josh's dilo bust looked so good. If only he hadn't totally flaked out, I'd have one of my grails...

Re: Jurassic Park Props?

What's the quality of all the pieces? I keep going back and forth on picking this version up.

Its a pretty good quality set..Between the letter from Hammond and the Temp Staff Pass.. The field guide is pretty neat too..It describes all the animals in the park, location, etc...The brochure isn't 100% accurate, but its well made....The best part is the shipping box!!!

It's definetely worth picking up

Re: Jurassic Park Props?

It's the Jurassic Park:The Game PC edition ordered direct from Telltale Games. They send you a ton of extras and an ingen branded mailer!

Pretty cool :D

Re: Jurassic Park Props?

Yeah, i finally decided to take the plunge on it. You convinced me Allosaur. Plus, i was looking at picking up a badge for the display, and i forgot this game had it. Was that extra push i needed. I'll have to finish playing through it tonight now (played the first episode that came with the blu-ray).

Re: Jurassic Park Props?

Okay, so I've slowly been accruing a few new props here and there. Have a couple more on their way, but since each shelf in my display now has something new, I thought I'd share the updates as they come in. :)

First up, my completed East Dock sign:

Not much different from what I posted in my thread last year, but I did finally put in some plants around the base to give it a more natural feel. I think I'm happy with how it looks now.

And now, the "cloning" shelf:

This features the mined chunk of amber, a reproduction cell of Mr. DNA drawn and painted on acetate by a buddy of mine, and the newest item. It may be a while before I can find and afford the Icons Raptor egg, so this is the next best thing. Straight from the nursery on Isla Nublar, it's an unfertilized ostrich egg ready for dino embryo implantation!

This is a 100% real ostrich egg that's been emptied out and cleaned up. It's hard to see all the detail on this piece, but it is pretty cool. The height is about 6-7 inches tall.

With any luck, I'll have another shelf to showcase tomorrow night or Wednesday.

Enjoy!

Re: Jurassic Park Props?

Got another new prop in last night, so it's time to show the next shelf. :)

My new, 99% complete Dennis Nedry shelf:

It's mostly what I've posted before, but I now also finally have a Jurassic Park mug with the correct, yellow logo! It's scratch made (besides the mug itself), and I still need to clear coat it with a gloss cover, but it's a very nice addition. All that's left at this point is to source the slot machine keychain on his desk, but I think that's going to be next to impossible.

Re: Jurassic Park Props?

My latest purchase showed up, which let me finish up the bottom two shelves of my display. So here are the pics!

The bottom "InGen" shelf

Special thanks to allosaur176 for giving me the little extra push to pick this set up. It's a little bit smaller than I expected it to be, but it's pretty cool, overall. And it let me use the patch to complete my next shelf.

"Worker" shelf

Featuring the hardhat, raptor claw, and replica arm patch. I felt that the raptor claw worked well on this shelf, as it alludes to the opening of the film.

And then, behind these two shelves is an item I grabbed over the winter.
10kVolts-Sign.jpg

It's a 1:1 scale sign made out of I believe aluminum. It's a great piece to add to the background.
