Just received my Museum Replicas Arc Reactor and it doesn't light up

I just bought one, I like it.
I put the batteries in and it worked...very bright. !
I also had issues with the case and the wire on the back not fitting.
Until I turned the arc unit the other way !!
Guys, its in backwards :)

Sorry Scott, I tried that. The hole is definitely off center but that does not resolve the problem. Even when it is seated the proper way, I was not able to place the display case over the Arc Reactor while the wire was installed in the back.

I have a silly question. Can you just cut off, or somehow remove the wire on the back of the Arc Reactor without harming its functionality? I don't think I recall seeing the wire on it anyway in the movie, (although I may be wrong). I'm on the fence about getting one of these myself, so I'm curious if this is even possible before I consider ordering one. Thanks.

You don't have to attach the wire.
It plugs into the back, right by the switch.
I never compared it to a fan made arc so I have no idea how close or innacurate it is.
I think it may actually be too bright.
I'm thinking about putting a sheet of paper in front of the leds to tone it down a little.
It didn't really come with any instructions, but I don't think any were really needed.
You get two little screws and a metal post that needs to be attached to the wood base.
I attached the wire on the back, and then the lexan case would not fit over the model.
So I pulled the arc off the stand and stuck it back on the other direction.
Problem solved.
This is just my experience though, sounds like others didn't get the same.
I also purchased mine through a store that opens and inspects each one, before selling them.

I live about 40 minutes from Museum Replicas, want me to go over there and rough the place up some for all your trouble? I can bring some friends, we can knock over some mannequins, it'll be fun.

If at all possible, could somebody who owns one of the "Museum Replica's" Arc Reactors post a couple of photos of it from the front, back and side with the glass top on and the red & black wire removed? (Unlit would be preferable.) Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words tandiono. No I didn't modify the base mate...it is exactly as it was when I received it. The glass is 6mm stardard safety glass. I had a local glass company make the case up for me. It was quite expensive at £80 but in my opinion, looks the part.:):thumbsup

Sorry to ask a stupid question but you mean, it comes without the glass?

OK, another stupid question: Can you take the arc reactor out of the stand and 'play' with it (short of cutting a hole in the chest)?

I am very interested, maybe by July.

I guess you could cut a hole in the chest and ply the arc reactor.. I've consult with a well known surgery and top notch engineer.. Will conduct an experiment once when i got in hand the arc reactor probably on mid may...

Hello guys,

Could anyone of you be so kind and tell the diameter of the reactor, measured from the copper wires?

I'm attempting my version 3.0 and I'd like to be accurate on that, thanks a lot!!
