which should I do?
I wouldn't even rent it.
And that would be my one "complaint" about the film--it seems the filmmakers didn't know whether to make it a comedy, a parody, or an action film, so they tried to include a little of each and came up short on all counts; I've never read the comics, so I can't say whether or not the film was a faithful adaptation. That said, I enjoyed it for what it was but felt it could have been better. On the plus side, it was nice to see Nicolas Cage act for a change; he hasn't done that since Bringing Out The Dead 11 years ago.GOD I'm sick of nit picking. The entire ****ing movie is based off of a comic that is a parody of ****ing comics. People honestly look like complete idiots for being "disappointed" or "let down" by a movie made of a comic, that is a parody of source material that's a ridiculously improbable and impractical alternative to crime fighting.
