Kick-Ass is awesome!

Loved it! I'm gonna see it again. Heck, even liked it more than Avatar, Dark knight and Iron man combined, and I really liked those 3.

Loved it. I think the trailer made it out to be funnier than it actually was though. What was funny was the women in the ticket booth. I loudly proclaimed 'Kick-Ass for ten o'clock please' and she looked at the other lady and said see, he wasn't afraid to say it. Lol!

It's not even playing in my home town.

Just got back from seeing it. WOW! That was really, really good. Best movie
I have seen in years.

I did have to laugh as all of theater signing says KICK A - such and such time. They can't even put the word ass on the time screens. LOL.

As much as I hate the high prices at the theaters, I'd go again in a heartbeat!(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup

I liked it, but something through out the movie just seemed off to me. Its hard to put my finger on it, on why this movie is hard for me to love.

I was down with everything, and I would have thought it was better than Citizen Kane three years ago (before my son was born), but now I thought it just wasn't cool to see a grown man punch an 11 year old girl in the face a few times like he meant it. I mean, I know it was a movie and all, but... dang. I had less trouble with her cutting off legs.

Maybe that says something about me. :)

Saw it today, and I plan on seeing it several more times while it's in the theater. I LOVED it! It was the Shaun of the Dead of superhero movies. It had incredible depth, satire, and soul. I went in expecting a goofy teen comedy, but it was so so so much more than that. I cannot say enough good things about this movie. It just really struck a nerve in me and tapped into something almost primal.

I think it was Dave and his crew, i know there supposed to be socially awkward but come on i wanted something different then the superbad feel to it.

So I guess I wasn't the only one who got unexpected chills when the “Three a-holes laying into one guy while everyone else watches? And you wanna know what’s wrong with me? Yeah, I’d rather die, so bring it on!” line was delievered?

Satirical? Yes. Cynical? No. It's awesome.

He didn't see her as a kid, but as someone worst than him and all of his men.

Yeah, I wasn't talking about in-story, I was talking about me as an audience member. Ever since I had a kid of my own, I can't take film violence against children. I turned off In Bruges ten minutes in , and won't watch the rest of it, no matter how many of my friends tell me what a good film it is.

I saw it today. I was looking forward to this movie from the very first trailer and it didn't disappoint! I loved this movie! A great story with great action.

To me, Hit Girl is to Kick-Ass what the Joker was to The Dark Knight! She STOLE this movie! And Nickolas Cage's line delivery when he was in costume had me rolling every time! :lol:lol

Can't wait to see it again... then on to the DVD!

-B89! :D

Pure cartoon violence though, that lets it off the hook, for me. I can take any amount of orcs being beheaded, vampire mayhem, fantasy whatever. But the last slasher film I saw was "Scream", and it's probably the last one I ever see.

Plausible violence against the defenceless = no thanks. Highly implausible violence involving someone who is more than merely able to defend herself despite her low age/size/weight goes straight into my 'fantasy' category.

You were definitely not the only one, Gem. That line got me, too.

Yeah, him flying at the end was a little off but it went with the theme of the movie, so I was ok with it. Red Mist/the Mother****er was awesome. Would have been awesome if they kept Hit Girl doing cocaine and Dave's "girlfriend's" real reaction, but at this point i think "They left it out!" has ceased to be a valid complaint in a comic movie discussion.

Oh, and you want spoiler tags, the third guy in the thread said "hey guys, anyone who hasn't seen this movie shouldn't come in here for fear of spoilers." There's your tag. Grow up.

Better it be Superbad than Dawson's Creek and 90210!

What thread are you reading? Third guy said:

Saw it...Loved it...!:love:love

I changed my post because some dude spoiled later, even though topic starter said: NO SPOILERS. Guess some people are just not able to read.

You need to see The Girl Next Door.

Sorry, this was for Larry Young and a joke. :)

Now that movie made me squirm.

I haven't read the comic and certainly do not miss HG doing coke. That's a little much for me.

It was ok. I didnt' read the comics so no previous exposure to the materials.
It helps to make sure your comic book hat and adolescent fantasy glasses are in place.
Which is fine I do that plenty. LOL
I thought it started out almost plausible there for a while, then it went to Sillyville
a bit too much for my tastes in a film. Comics can get away with that stuff easier.
