Klingon D'K Tahg Knife- Let's Get It DONE!

What Mercury said. The UC "Bird of Prey" knife was designed and marketed as a (barely disguised) Klingon knife -- the problem was they never obtained the Trek license. So Paramount sent over the lawyers, and UC had to rename the knife to "Phoenix" as well as change the packaging and redesign the faux Klingon symbol on the sheath.

I don't know when it was on DS9, but all of the Duras sisters' gang in Generations used the UC knife (with a cloisonne Klingon symbol pin stuck onto the leather sheath). It's much smaller than and quite different from the original STIII and TNG versions of the knife.

Got one of the "Phoenix Blades" years ago. In fact, once I saw this thread, I had to check in my gun safe to make sure I still had it, it's been that long since I remember pulling it out. Still got the sheath, too.

I even found my old man's in his shed. Lord knows he didn't take any kind of care of it, but the lower blades still come out smoothly.

I have one. It's a tad rusted but works fine, and that's why God made CLR. :p

Anyway, I've always wanted to convert it -- so I've subscribed to this thread. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

Occasionally I'll check the Bay for one, just to have one since it was used in Generations, but the prices have usually been too high. I'll catch a good deal eventually.
