If you dont like the stuff, dont buy it. If you have an opinion, sure,...express it.
What I have a propblem with is folks contradicting themselves with what should be possible.
EFX is a handful of folks working to keep overhead LOW, while offering QUALITY items, AND actually delvering, and yet, some of you, somehow find ways to complain?
You GOt to be kidding? You can't have your cake AND eat it too.
Im starting to wonder if the FEW SCREEN names I see here who are the most negative are really former bitter ICONS people.
If you feel you can start a licensed prop company, and do a better job, well...
GO FOR IT. I'd like to see what some of you can do, besides flap your lips (keys).

Brundlefly, no one in this thread, especially comments actually posted this year, has complained about efx's pricing, quality, business practices, or delivery. The comments have only been concerned with the fact that the announced release dates have been different from the actual release date. Most of these concerns would be moot if there was simply an announcement posted on the News page of their website, saying that the release of the announced products would be delayed.
I doubt that any of the posters seriously claims to be able to start a better licensed prop company. But it wouldn't surprise me if some folks here thought they could do a better job of throwing together three sentences for the News page of their website to announce a delay. In this case, flapping their lips/keys would be all that's needed.
No one here has suggested that they rush their products to market in order to meet an unrealistic deadline. I daresay most of us would be fine with a delay, even supportive, because we know it would mean a better product. We'd just be happier if we knew about the delay ahead of time.
It surprises me that you would assume that no one would ever express any dissatisfaction with efx unless they had some kind of hidden agenda or conspiratorial grudge due to being a former employee of some company that went out of business nearly a decade ago. To me, this came out of left field. I don't work in the prop business, so I have no idea if this kind of drama is normal. I don't think it's unusual for ordinary customers to be concerned when products aren't released when they're supposed to be. If Iron Man 2, or the new season of LOST, or the last Harry Potter book didn't come out when they were announced, and no announcement of the delay had been made, you can bet a lot of people would be wondering what was up.
I'm glad the efx company hasn't publicly embraced your shut-up-or-buy-your-props-somewhere-else attitude, because that would turn me off as a customer. It is a fact so obvious that it shouldn't need to be stated: the only reason any of us cares at all about release delays is because we WANT to give efx our money. Having seen their products so far, I am excited about their upcoming products. When I heard that they were working on the X-Wing helmet, I wrote an email to them just to express how excited I am. We're not hating on efx, we're fans of their work. If I didn't like efx's product, I wouldn't give a crap when they were released.
Same here!
Last time I talked with Brian the prototype was in.
From my short conversation with him I have full confidance that when it IS released it will be awesome!!
That's great to hear! I saw an early prototype at Comic-Con. My girlfriend and I have been getting Classic Battlestar gear together, and I am stoked about wearing that Viper helmet at Dragon*Con!
But I sympathise with the point about the prospect of holding off on fan-made props in the interim as I have been keeping my powder dry on the X-Wing helmet for years now, a waiting time which seems completely justified on the quality evident in their Stormtrooper, Clonetrooper and now, concept Vader, Helmets.
I totally agree! If their X-Wing helmet is the same level of quality as those other helmets, I know my wait will not have been in vain. I just hope it fits my oversized noggin. (Who am I kidding, I'd buy it whether it fit or not!)
