lost boys MARKO jacket replica!

Ladies and gentlemen we have a winner! I purchased another tapestry from Contrado because I just wasn't 100% happy with the canvas I bought, mainly because I didn't like how loose the weave was. I got the "Chichi Furnishing Velour" 8.26oz, Print Width:50.8cm, Print Length:104.14cm, Uneven scissor cut. I have to say IMO it is VERY close to the vintage tapestry in weight, color, and texture. I have one in hand to compare it to, so I can give a good analysis. I was ecstatic when I opened up the package!

I think the feel of the fabric is similar to the vintage ATC tapestry, just a little less stiff. One could apply thin fusible interface to stiffen it up, but I don't that that's necessary.

Okay, I have done something maybe a little controversial. I personally find the snake lady tapestry hideous so I've spruced her up. I decided I care a little more about my personal aesthetics than total screen accuracy in this instance.

I pulled the original lady from the poster that pennywise found awhile back and merged her into the tapestry section that CharlieTearz set up for printing. I've attached both my modified snake lady and the full spread for printing. I only replaced one Cleo on the spread just in case I end up hating her or wanting to swap for the more accurate version later. Anyways, here she is if anyone want
That looks beautiful. How did you do that?

Great job everyone. Just found another tv show with the patch. It's Kolchak: the Night Stalker. Probably the same patches/vests from a prop house or movie studio.

It was pretty simple actually! The original poster that the tapestry was based on seems to be Flame of The Dawn World by Carlos Norte (I think? My only source is a sold-out etsy listing.)

I'm not sure how technical you want me to be. Using photo editing software, I cropped the woman from the poster and put that image on top of the the tapestry image. I decreased to opacity of the nicer-looking lady and moved her/resized her until she lined up with the original. Then I increased her opacity again, erased the parts of the top image I didn't need, and used cloning and blending until she looked like she fit!

If you're interested in photoediting and manipulation, pixlr.com is a free browser-based photo editor. It's fairly robust and a great place for a beginner to get started!

Thanks. Your lady is prettier for sure and I've played around with photoshopping using less sophisticated software and it's so time consuming.

It's like a checklist! I'm gonna have to check which ones I don't have against this.
Actually I was just saying ha-ha look at me I've got all the patches!!!
Just kidding
Yes that's why I posted it, so people could have a little checklist. The eagle patch comes with different motorcycle names in it but looking at pictures you dont see the name but its black with a yellow boarder.

Also the black rectangle live to ride skull patch is different. The real one I believe has feathers under the skull like the picture. The real one is next to impossible to find.

I still need to get this last piece made from Contrado in the "chichi furnishings velour". At some point I will start to assemble the jacket. I probably won't be getting to it very soon due to my busy work and family schedule. I want to do it as accurately as possible and take pictures of the stages of the build process for others to see. Maybe this summer...

Can I ask where you got the 'squid lures' from? I'm in the UK and those things are super hard to find here! Thanks in advance.

Ebay or Amazon you can usually find them. I don't have a orange and blue one, but noted that because that's what it's supposed to be, mine is pink and blue. Orange and blue is movie accurate but does not exist anymore from my understanding. Some people have gotten a solid orange and taken a blue permanent marker and painted half blue, I'm not too sold on that idea though. I think I'm going to get a blue one and and orange, cut them in half and try to glue them together. I also am always keeping an eye out for a actual blue and orange one because they WERE made, maybe I will find a "vintage" one some old fisherman is getting rid of. I have seen smaller orange and blue ones, but not the correct larger size.

See 050 is ORANGE and BLUE but sadly its only 4-3/4" :( waaay too small. The size needed is either 12", 12-1/2", or 13"

I bought a 8.5" orange and purple squid skirt from Squidskirts.com because it looked like the Vinnytats Marko replica jacket possibly used that. His orange looks smaller than the green. I got it today and I'm not sold on that idea now. It's alot smaller than the 12". I think I will stick with the pink and blue one for now...

There has been discussion in regards to the correct size of the Warriors patch. It was thought 8.5" was the correct size, but upon the measurements I've taken while building my jacket I believe the 9.5" measurement is more correct.
