Do the bullets fit properly into the ammo clip? That would be the icing on the cake.

not to hyjack the thread but what do you all think of the QMX Mal pistol. Is it screen accurate.
I would like to buy one but if fan made ones of this quality are going to be available for group purchases I may just go that route
Opinions?

Screen accurate to the movie, as they have used the original molds. I see no reason to go to unlicenced vendors when licencees offer official and accurate merchandize - though... it is a static prop... so the only reason to go with unlicenced would be to get a working prop.

Don't forget that the QMX replica is of the 'Serenity' version of the pistol, the one pictured here in this thread is the 'Firefly' version.

The QMx Serenity Mal pistol will be as accurate as possible to the screen-used original. After all, they were given access to all of the source material by everyone involved in the creation of the original props. But most of all, the prop will be licensed and affordable.

As someone else mentioned, this is the Firefly version of the gun. The QMx prop is the Serenity version.

Two hero guns were produced for the show, which were eventually converted to the Serenity pistols. So, the Firefly guns as we saw them in the TV series no longer exist.

Not only will I be getting a QMx pistol, but the friend who made this one will be buying two as well. What does that say about the confidence we have in the QMx piece?

Get the QMx gun, as that will guarantee a steady flow of unique, original, and well-made props from a company that will turn the replica market on its ear in the long run.

Folks, please hold off on the "I want one" talk, as this is a showoff thread, not a sales thread. If they are to be offered I have no doubt Phillipes will create a JY thread about it.

LOL, I think he is...of course, I am LOVING all the pics myself.

Phil, tell your friend that I think a burgendy lining in the box might suit the tone of the gun and the wood box a little better...though I could be wrong. ;)

Just thought I'd post pics of what I meant. A red or burgendy liner I think suits the tone of the wood and such.

Though I think blue also works a bit better than the purple.

Red or burgundy is too commonly used in displays. Besides, it reminds one of a Companion.

Good thing I didn't suggest hot pink then. ;)

It looks awesome no matter what colour the liner is...though I imagine hot pink might ruin the look a little.

Just wanted to chime in again and say WOW. This thing kicks ass.

Thanks for the new pictures too. :thumbsup
