More Sci-Fi coming to Syfy?!

I think you're right. Actually i think that's the same convos they had for weather channel (now with reality), discovery, history, learning channel, and music channels. I'm waiting for reality shows on cartoon network. I miss Scifi from a decade ago where there would be old show marathons every day.

I was really looking forward to Sojourn and a few others mentioned in the original post. I did a Google search looking for updated information regarding all of them and found nothing new.

Syfy Orders Space Opera 'The Expanse' to Series

Syfy Orders Space Opera 'The Expanse' to Series - Hollywood Reporter

The drama is described as a thriller set 200 years in the future and follows the case of a missing young woman who brings a hardened detective and a rogue ship's captain together in a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.

"The Expanse is epic in scale and scope and promises to be Syfy's most ambitious series to date," Syfy president Dave Howe said. "Bringing this coveted book franchise to television with our partners at Alcon and the Sean Daniel Co. is a giant win for Syfy, reinforcing our overall strategy to produce bold, provocative and compelling sci-fi fantasy stories.

The Expanse is a three-book series that includes Leviathan Wakes, Caliban's War and Abaddon's Gate. The first book in the series was nominated in 2012 for the Hugo Award for best novel as well as the Locus Award for best sci-fi novel. Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin described Leviathan as a "kickass space opera."

Leviathan Wakes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Leviathan Wakes follows the character of Jim Holden, one of many citizens who have spread out over the solar system and inhabited the surrounding planets. Holden makes his living as an ice miner who accidentally comes across the remains of the Scopuli. It's on this ship that he discovers a secret that people are willing to kill and start wars for. At the same time, Detective Miller is searching for the daughter of a rich couple, his investigation bringing him to Holden and the remains of the Scopuli. The two men must work together to find out what is going on and keep themselves and everyone else alive.

It's SyFy - they can screw up anything :)

Plus, it won't last past 100 episodes, guaranteed, as they're too cheap to re-do contracts :)

It may or may not last to 100 episodes but it definitely won't go past 5 seasons since 5 seasons has been SyFy's magic number which I really don't mind it's just the stupid games they pull with promising shows a 6th season or a partial 6th seasons of a handful of episodes to wrap things up only to renege on their promise at the last moment. Things wouldn't be so bad if shows actually went into their 5th season knowing that it was their last instead of being led on until it's too late and they either have to end the series on a cliffhanger and finish things off in a TV movie or totally rush the series finale into 1 or 2 episodes.
