MR Fett Blaster Accurizing Thread

What is not accurate as compared to the real prop:

Paintjob
Scope
Phantom Greeblies on the sides of the cylinder
Visible V8 greeblies on the stock near the grip
Rear Stock Greeblies
T-Track on the barrel

Here´s a short update of mine, based on the list you posted...

Scope:
Cobbled together a Frankenstein-scope that is nearly 100% accurate

Phantom Greeblies on the sides of the cylinder:
Removed the MR details, filled/ sanded the areas and added the real deal

Visible V8 greeblies on the stock near the grip:
Have two real ones that I´m going to use on my MR rebuild. It hurts me to think about destroying them to match the ones on the screenused blaster :cry

Rear Stock Greeblies:
Molded/ cast the correct right side detail.

-> Filled and sanded the holes in the shoulder stock, preparing to add the details via paper template.

T-Track on the barrel:
Won´t touch it, too much hassle :unsure

Paintjob:
This is going to be tricky, the blaster has such a defined, multi-layered paintjob that will be very hard to reproduce correctly :confused

I am working on creating my Frankenscope.

I have resin copies of the Phantom Greeblies installed on mine. I considered using the real deal, but since this is not a real Webley, I guess the greeblies can be fake too! :lol

I have resin copies. Asok finally found the correct part and now has a pressure pot to cast these up. Crisp and clean as the real deals! Cheap too! :)

Rear Stock Greeblies:
Molded/ cast the correct right side detail.

Asok did those too. :)

I bought Gino's T-Track. I have to admit they are expensive($$$), but when you place his t-track next to the MR T-Track, the MR stuff looks not so good. I can't wait to get them installed.

Yeah... I am terrified about that too. However, you could dunk the EE-3 in a bucket of mixed paint and it wouldn't look any worse than the paintjob it came with! :lol

Holler when you start your paintjob, I'll take you through the steps I use on the Stunt ones I'm doing. People are flipping over the paint job.
It'll only take 5 colors.

Hey Markus, if you can, try to take some pics while you're fixing your rifle so we can see.

I forgot who it was that painted the MR artist proofs, but he is on here and said something about doing a paint guide. I'm not sure if he got around to it or not though.

Interesting thread.:thumbsup

Looking forward to the finished results. Take lots of pics.

Not sure if I want to start correcting my MR blaster.

Well ... the major part of the "conversion" is already done, as written in my posts. I´ll snap some pics of the blaster in its current state anyway :)

Anyone who could help me placing the stock details correctly?

Markus

They look very crooked.

This is how I placed the stock greeblies on the real conversions I did.

The whole blaster has to be assembled.

Lay it in front of you so that is looks like right. It's hard to explain this because it's a visual "feeling" but you will know what I mean once you look at the entire blaster

Once you have it in the correct visual perspective it will be easy to align the stock greeblies to what you perceive as the centerline of the blaster

That´s what I planned to do but due to the slight shape differences of the MR stock to the real one, it´s harder to determine the correct placement.

The LEFT side of the stock shows the details pretty much in line with each other. The small V8 detail on the RIGHT can also be placed pretty easy, while the large one seems to be tilted down on the left!? The gap between the left edge of the small detail to the right side of the large detail should be around 9 cm IMO.

I´ll try on...
