MR TOS Enterprise Paint Master

Scott, you can scratchbuild a little cap to make the bridge taller, leave the lights off, and voila instant pilot version. :D

Then there's the larger sensor dish and the nacell caps (both ends),.. plus who knows what else? Does anyone have a list of all the differences? I would love to know what they are besides the obvious... if any? :unsure

The pilot version is still premium grail for me. As I stated in my previous post,.. the series version has been done too much, (although not as accurate), which I will still display it with pride. :p

While I plan to eventually have a 5.5-foot Series version, I'd love to have a Pilot version as well. But there's no way I would ever build 2 of the bigger models. A 1/350 Pilot version would be just the thing.

Here's the most complete list of changes between series and pilot versions that I have yet seen:

Planning a scratchbuild at some point. Though if I could get a JK saucer section it would make my work MUCH easier. . .

I would love to see what you do on that. :p

You should talk to Cardboard (Scott). You probably already know this, but he has a JK version just sitting in his garage that he has mentioned he is thinking of building soon since seeing Sean's awesome beast at WF. Personally,.. I don't see him having the time with the kewl 2001 stuff he is working on right now. :D He has always told me he should do it, but alas, I believe attention to detail of his own kits, along with movie meyhem from time to time keeps him busy. However,.. that is why his kits are so great. Maybe a little nudge from a friend may help? LOL.

Would you do the Pilot version or the Series version? I am preferring Pilot right now due to the lack of any being out there...lol. ;)

Well, if I can get a JK saucer it will happen sooner. I won't have time to scratch anything like that for a while until I get some other projects out of the way. I did design a tooling jig to turn saucer shapes though. . . ;)

I would build the big one as a Series version probably. There is no way I would want to build two of the big models. But I wouldn't mind having a Pilot version in 1/350.

Still, first thing's first though -- I don't want to get sidetracked. I have plenty of other projects to keep me busy at the moment. Like patterning a 4-foot Klingon Cruiser from TMP. . .

:D

You know oddly enough I think I prefer the "Where No Man" version myself... you get the lights, plus the dark gray "(" and ")" shapes on either side of the primary hull, the extra red-bordered yellow boxes, the LARGE antenna dish, the engine spikes...

Plus you can rest with the knowledge that the "Where No Man" version of the ship appears in just about EVERY episode of the series, as stock footage. :lol

If you built one that way, you can take pix and then re-model it as the production Enterprise. Yours would be the most screen-accurate Enterprise of all. :lol

Don't forget the grills on the back of the nacelles. I actually prefer those to the dome of the series version anyway.

I think a "Where No Man..." version weathered like the series version would be a cool project.

:)
