my BTTF replica skateboard build

I purchased a set of "screen acurate" vacuum form shells on eBay which were way too large. In the ad this seller said that you could pour resin in them to make your own copies if you wanted to. That method should produce a smaller part - so that's what I did , rather than toss these out and look for others - I hate wasting money - by saying so in his add - that they can be poured with resin - That gives me permission to do so since the seller said it was ok - right ?? Therefore that's what I did. I poured resin into the vacuum form shells, which made these. They are still a slight bit large but can be trimmed down to fit my board this was not the most economical method to make these items by far , because I spent 40 on the vacuformed pieces and then I spent another 40 in resin to make these pieces so might not have been the most economical way to go. But it got the job done.and they look good

To make those parts look more accurate, take them to a belt sander and make them much thinner... Not the battery, but the other parts. You could also file a groove to make it look like the magnet and the hold down are separate as opposed to being one formed piece. They dont look bad, but I hate seeing the ebay ad that claims screen accurate.

EDIT:
Eh, looking at it again, if you sanded the bottom it would take too much away from the magnet, where the hold down is really what needs to be thinned out...

Gonna sand them down some and try and salvage these - don't have the cash for better set right now

On another note - the Valterra boards grip tape arrived and I have the deck almost ready to clear - then will apply grip tape - wonder how long I should let the crystal clear harden before applying the grip tape ?

I followed these videos to install my grip tape, I'd recommend that, it is actually easier than you might think!

This is how to put it on:

And this is how to remove it:
