My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET **FINISHED! see post #207

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

You are completely missing the point..... He claims most authentic on every mold. When does it stop.. He can't claim that the new molds touched the inside of an original and ignores the question of why is the kink in the right tube now when before he claimed it was an assembly issue.

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

I guess when we see the new pix without the "bags" we'll see if the kink is there. If not then it is completely feasable that it was kinked during assembly. I know from experience at assembling these buckets especially HDPE that if bent or dropped a kink can occur. Maybe Gino is guilty of posting a pic before he had the best final pull to show , but i personally don't feel decieved in any way.

If there is a better bucket out there i would like very much to see it.

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

I would like to see one raw with the 'bag under the eyes' issue solved and also a painted one.

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

The V2 is the most accurate. The V3 is even more so. Pretty straightforward.
most (mst) adj.
Superlative of many, much.

1. In or to the highest degree or extent.
Used with many adjectives and adverbs to form the superlative degree.

2. At the maximum.

What is better than "the most" ?
More better, of course. :lol

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

This is a circus.
The kink is present on the moulds and should have been from the start. The un kinked helmets are from modified moulds. There's no way out of it. One release is "unmodified" then the next is "unmodified". It may have originally been a assembly issue but it's not on a replica if the mould was taken from a kinked helmet it should still be on the mould unless it was reworked not to do so.
I could go and dig out all the contradictions but it's not worth it.
It's still a fine helmet and that should speak for itself.
We aren't idiots and shouldn't be treated as.

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

How long has the V3 taken since you acquired the molds? Have you been working on them since the late nineties - I can't remember when te first bought a helmet.

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

So were the humps under the eyes a problem or not? If it was redone to exclude them then why did I get a slap on the hand (and called a troll) from the RPF admin for showing that the originals don't have them?

So if Exoray says something negative about it, it isn't trolling? But when I show a comparison that the originals don't have it, it is trolling?

So basically I have no right to post something contrary to Gino in any of his threads? And other people do?

Show me where I have been or am a troll.

Thomas, since you felt the need to drag this into the open forum, I will respond to you openly.

First, I don't see Flynn saying anything negative, but whether he was or not isn't even the point. We don't have an issue with people having differing views and opinions. That is what makes the world go round and helps us make progress. Gino has made his bed with many of his statements and he will now have to sleep in it. However you have made yours too and given your history with Gino and your efforts to undermine him repeatedly makes your actions more trollish in nature than someone else who doesn't have the history you have.

So, are you being treated differently than others? Yes, you are. Why? Because of your own actions.

We aren't doing this to you. You have done it to yourself.

As I told you in PM, I refuse to get into a protracted argument about it. We both know what you are doing and we aren't interested in playing those reindeer games. We asked you to stop and expect you to do so. Simple as that. Crying about it publicly may garner you some sympathy from the members but it isn't going to change our stance on the issue. Move along.

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

Can we please stay on the subject of Gino's current offering , the v3 HDPE trooper helmet.
If your requirements are the tear detail , the kink and no Bags or channel lines then maybe this isn't the bucket for you.

As for the "Bags" issue check out the pic i posted on the previous page , its the original bucket with the "Bags" present. The same helmet Sithlord said had none.

As for the kink , so what if its not on this offering , i personally don't want the kink , its on other buckets i have so why would i need it on this one. I think its childish to hijack someones thread with the sole intention of Baiting someone into a fight for your own amusement.

Seriously grow up people if you don't like whats currently on offer don't buy it , just go and buy one of those other accurate Khaki HDPE buckets ... Oh wait there isn't one.

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

I'm just keen for new pix. Come on Gino gimme gimmme gimme.

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

Ok, here are some pics taken outside.
It was late evening, not quite dusk.
Every time I photograph these, they come out looking a different color.

Here are some ones taken without flash.

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

For removed details:confused i thought that was obvious, and understandable? And that's the reason we hate that practices('R') so much? It also kept price tags high on props?
If i've been able to,i'll snag this of in a heart beat.

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

Okay, so I'm an accuracy nut but not a trooper nut so help me out with some vocabulary here, guys.

The tear detail, got that one. But if this was included on the V2, then why leave it out this time? Why is it so sacred?

I'm not noticing the 'kink' on the face plate. I see an indentation along the bottom edge but I don't think Gino's pics are anything more than a teaser, and not the final product. The same kink, or am I not looking in the right spot?

These channels were talking about are the same as the bags correct? HDPE has a funny way of creating what I would describe as a hot glued looking seem similar to the look of a weld. Sharp edges take on new shapes.

Okay, so still been brushing up on IDed Stunts. Had a look at a few screen used helmets available on the web. This face looks sharp... matching what I am seeing here. Yes, I am aware of the origins of Gino's masters. His new HPDE has just gotta make your mouth water. The material really does capture that familiar look and texture.

Gripes. The back/cap. All of the edges look soft and not deep enough for my liking. The sharpest areas appear raised, when they should not? The back step is barely a line, and the tube around the bottom as it joins the helmet is very soft, or perhaps only not as sharp as the Set for Stun Helmet?

Tell me to F off is you like, but clear this up for me please.

Still saving, though.:thumbsup

You are absolutely right. This back/cap IS extremely soft, especially compared to something like the Set for Stun helmet, but that is because this back/cap is a casting from the Brian Rachfal helmet, which did feature an incredibly soft back and cap. :cry I really wish another unmodified back/cap would come on the market from an original helmet that had a sharper pull.

While the Set for Stun back and cap is very sharp in comparison, you must also consider that the Set for Stun replicas that have been made available to the public were cleaned up and sharpened extensively, making those details even MORE sharp.

I can't wait to see one finished.

Thanks Gino

I believe they are talking about the kink on the bottom of the right hand side tube area.

And i believe this has been bought into question because this has not appeared on GINO's past replicas.
Not only has it not appeared but GINO has been adamant in the past when this detail has been pointed out to be missing on his replicas whilst present on the original helmets that it was purely an assembly issue with the originals and not something present on the molds.
This though seems strange because on none of GINO's previous replicas has this kink been present when assembled but here it is on the new one on what is infact an unassembled helmet, so i don't know what's happening but what i do knowis that it's obviously not an assembly issue if it is present before assembly.

Re: My V3 HDPE TROOPER HELMET

Just taking a guess here, but could it pertain to the materials in question? Maybe ABS pulls cleaner than HDPE.
