My Vektor CP1

I wash them in warm water with blue Dawn dish soap after waiting 5 days from casting them. The 305 didn't like the Duplicolor primer. It made it gummy. The task 16 was fine with the Duplicolor primer. The Rustoleum seems to have a real solid bond with the 16 but it just has a slightly tacky feel to it. I think if I cleared them the paint would hold up better. I just got back from the place I get my Smooth On stuff from and spent an hour talking to them about what I want to accomplish. They gave me some interesting tips and I am going to try them and will post my results.

shame we have such strickt laws about guns over here. a cast copy like that will get you in serious troubles very fast. (fines up to 10.000 euro and you can get jailed up to one year)

good looking casts you made from a good looking gun.

I am lucky in the state where I live- I can open carry a regular pistol without a license ( not that I would ) and I have a permit to carry concealed. I would be fine with any replica. Not so much in New York and New Jersey which are adjacent to me. They have insane laws even around airsoft guns. With these the only issue I see is selling them on eBay. Hopefully if I sell them here no one will do anything stupid with it.

And thanks for the feedback! The next set are going to be even better

I finally got around to making a new mold. This is the second mold I have ever made and tried to take my time to fix the areas I wasn't happy with on the initial. I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out. The barrel and ejection port on the original ones were a mess.

Yes, they are getting better and better. Thanks for showing us the process and the progress.

Vector's were also used in Firefely (Possibly several episodes) and made an occasional appearance in the Nu Battlestar Galactica too.

Ted.

I didn't like the way these turned out using the smoothcast 305 before. I had a lot of pin holes and thin spots. I have been playing around with baby powder and added a vent thing by the trigger guard/safety area. This is the first 305 one out of the mold with baby powder brushed on. Only one air bubble on the inside of the trigger area at the top which is non visible. The details using the 305 don't seem to show as well as the task16 but I think some of that has to do with the black vs white. I have a task 16 one curing with the new vent added now.

I am liking the 305 for the Peacekeeper gun ( as long as it doesn't yellow over time). Krylon Stainless Steel paint and Tamiya acrylic model paint for the black. Have to paint the front sight yet and use a smaller brush around the edges ( I was holding it in my hand while painting). Pretty happy with the final outcome for his version. The 305 doesn't have as fine of details as the Task16 but for this particular verision I think it is the best option. I bought a bunch of different spray paints to try and paint the Task 16 yet.

I have finally gotten these to a point where I feel they look ok to sell. Listed one today .. I ended up powdering the mold as well as using an oral syringe to try and squirt resin onto the areas where I was having issues with air bubbles. I have almost all of them out except for the lower part of the magazine which is a weird spot to get them. I hope to buy a pressure pot one day and be able to make them perfect ( as well as the Fett stuff I have been working on ) .

Thanks!! The black ones are looking really good. I'm just scared to list them for sale because of how realistic they look
