NEBULON B MEDICAL FRIGATE STUDIO SCALE 3D MODEL

I'm curious as to what computer you are using. I need to build or buy a new one. Massive polygon counts are causing my old computer to curse me in multiple languages, lol.
Hey Joe, yeah I use a gaming laptop which has a few upgrades but it still has moments of stultifying inertia while I wait for it to process this stuff...and Zbrush is pretty good at handling large files

So the Med Frig is finally finished...well over a thousand greeblies modelled, plus the hull and superstructure...I never want to see another ship hull again! I just need to add a 1/144 Falcon for good measure and I'll post some proper renders
So at 43 million vertices, the task now is to decimate where possible and manage the numerous folders of files. I have already started printing my double SS model, so I can beta test all the parts as I go through. Wouldn't have been possible without the tireless help and research of Marcel Leuthold at www.scifi-studio-scale.com and big Jim C

OK, so this model is finally ready for release, but you'd need to be as crazy as me to try it. There will be 2 versions; the 1/3 studio scale scale, around 80cm long (32"), optimised for a combination of resin printing and high quality, Bambu Lab/Prusa level printing, maybe for a desktop display etc...and then a full studio scale version, around 2.4m (8 foot), which will be better for anyone wanting to attempt the illuminated windows/LED of the original screen model. Here's the link to the 1/3 scale model files; https://imperialprinthub.etsy.com/listing/1801689611
I have finished printing my twice studio scale model, around 5m (16 foot) but will not get to build it just yet...got some other particularly juicy builds to do first
Ok coupla new renders and some pics of the big size parts;

I was literally looking for a high-quality STL of this model a few months back and completely forgot about this thread! You said that you have some Elegoo Neptune 4's, right? Is that was these parts were printed on?

SB

Yep, on the Neptune 4 Max for some of the biggest pieces, as well as Bambu Lab X1 for all the rest...although these are double scale, so it should be easier at 1:1

I had another one to share, but I kept frigate-ing the punch line...

Your Star Wars models, bring a tear to my eye
I want a larger printer, and this is why
If I make it life-sized, will it be done before I die?
That frigate. Just frigate.

But I want it real Big!

So frig-gate, frigate,

If its too small re-print it!

***to Michael Jackson's, Beat It***
