NECA 2009 $20 Jason Mask - Review

Thanks PHArchivist!! The flash is making the Scracthes look a little to bright. I went over them with some thin sienna on those scracthes. Thanks for the suggestions again. I am putting a fork in it....done.

Ah...! WAY better!

Much more natural looking, and just the right amount of scratches. Any more would have been a bit too much. Looks like you nailed it! Maybe add a thin sienna wash in the scratches, and perfecto (unless the flash is blowing out the whiteness)!

Almost done on this one,It's my 2nd attempt.

On this one I used 3 ref pics and made an attempt to mix all 3 together.

I need to tone down the red chevrons as well as some final weathering.

Just got mine today at the local TRU. Very surprised they had any at all. I took a pic in low light with my phone's camera, turned out very atmospheric!

You got that right!

Untill the DVD comes out I am sticking to "idealised" versions of what I like best on each hock ref pic.

Every one is different, but they all look to be a lighter shade of cream as a base than the NECA paintjob.

That pic of the SU mask shows that is basically the same colour as, say, a part 3 mask, only with a lot more weathering.

OK...Last repaint...Tried to make it as screen arcuate as possible.

my local TRU has a whole shelf of these... i pulled one out of the box at the store, and it looks awfully small.

i've got one of the vac formed ones pulled from the ep3 masters, and this seemed smaller. i wish i could have put them side by side. i might still go back and pick one up, but i was a bit disappointed in that.

but, the good news is, if you are in MA, the TRU in natick had at least a half dozen on shelf.

Its narrower/deeper like the later films, but its just as tall.
