NEW Call of Duty BLACK OPS!!!

Man I want this so bad, but my kids birthday is coming up, with Christmas hot on it's tail.
Need to see if I have anything I can sell to get this soon!

I'm a member of a fun group of gamers but I would love nothing more than to get some rpf game servers up and running :p

wey hey, you can forget black ops!

i just installed call of duty 1 united offensive and there are still servers!

this is the best game ever made ......period.

you don't need fancy graphics if you have great gameplay.

been thundering about in tanks the last couple of hours and my arms hurt now :cry

For those who might not realize it, United Offensive was developed by Gray Matter, which became the Call of Duty team at Treyarch. Much of the original Gray Matter crew are still running the Call of Duty team at Treyarch.

Luckily the pro's so far have been more than the Con's, even though it's been getting on my nerves. The server connection issues on Xbox are stupid and so is the Ghost perk. I have Ghost Pro yet I still get shot with enemy helicopters, even using a silenced weapon. I hope they fix it soon.

Oh, and apparently turrets can see me too, despite my ghost pro. **** is getting old real quick.

I've been leveling up pretty well the last couple of days. I finally got Sleight of Hand Pro and Ninja Pro. The NPro perk isn't that great - I swear I can't hear enemy footsteps any louder than before (and I'm using quality headphones). Overall the game is great, but like others I'm frustrated with crappy spawn points and MP lobby delays. Still worth the $60 though...

is the rolling stones in the game, or is it just in the trailer?

I put in a long session last night and while the spawn points, remote control cars, map randomizer (we got Hanoi 3 straight times!!!) still suck, here are my pros so far.

- Chopper Gunner: Holy crap, this is awesome. It shows you sitting inside the chopper then they open the door and you take control of a minigun and look out over the whole map. It's not a black and white display like MW2. Enemies are red triangles and you just go off on them. It takes a 9 killstreak but only 8 with Hardline. I started a game 8-1 on Jungle. Got a chopper gunner and got 18 kills with it. Ended 33-2.

- Gas grenade and gas mask. I never used this in WaW but I'm finding it's great in this game. There are so many more campers it seems that you just toss in a gas grenade into a room or hallway and they have to move or else they die. It's great in Demolition since you often get 4 or 5 guys camping around a target.

- Zombie Mode: Good lord, it's 10 times harder than in WaW. I've only made it to level 11 with a team of 4.

- Map voting: Still isn't perfect, but being able to vote on maps is kinda cool. Unfortunately, 1 of the maps that come up to vote on are often the same that you just played.

In regards to map voting one of the maps should always be the map you just played unless you switch lobbies. If you look they are labelled as previous and next. That way if most people enjoyed the map they just played on they can play it again or if the next map is crap you can play the same one over and get a new map next time.

People LOVE voting the same map over and over again especially Target Practice, Hanoi and Nuketown. They prefer the smaller maps where they know they do good so they pick them over and over.

Im surprised no one has mentioned the little RC car you can get with the game. Didn't even know about it until a guy in our barracks was playing around with it. The thing has a color screen on the controller w/ camera on the RC car

Ooooo.... Admittedly, I never bother looking at the lobby screen. I'm usually trying to see what I unlocked or what contracts I can purchase so thanks for the info! I'll pay more attention next time!

I changed my mind, am not so impressed and the game will eventually end up like the others at the side of my desk.

yes, rolling stones and Credence... are both in the games...

despite the outdated graphics, and the stiff rails the SP game is run on, there are some nice homages, to

  1. hamburger hill
  2. deer hunter
  3. apocalypse now... that's where i am right now...
i have to take breaks every 20 min or so as the 'flashback' brainwashing 'pop-flash / strobe' effect is pretty nauseating and annoying....

Just hit level 50 tonight in Multiplayer, I don't think I will prestige though. All my favorite weapons don't come until later in the game and I don't really wanna go back to the crappy ones in the beginning. I seen someone yesterday who's already level 4 or 5 prestige, he had like a bull head for the prestige symbol. I can't believe people are so far ahead already.

Dude, with games like this, there are people who drop EVERYTHING and play non-stop. They will RROD their Xboxes just to get to the next level of blah. Then they'll finally chew through all the levels and say "Man. This game is SO BORING. There's like...nothing to do!"

I should be at level 50 in a day or two. I'm enjoying the game, but there are still alot of things that need fixing. At least Treyarch is on top of things it seems. If anyone wants to team up, send me an invite (yodaman2000).
