NEW Latex TESB YODA HEAD

I'd go with the left one. It is easier to darken it up than to lighten it , especially as you are going to rub some of the paint away. Well done mate, it could easily pass for production made.

Can I have the one you don't use ? :)

The Yoda display below is 40% original - the rest is recreated specifically for the Exhibition display. The head hasn't been painted correctly complared to the screen puppet... Therefore, it certainly can't be relying on it as reference.

The foam system I'm using isn't "foam latex" its a slush mold latex skin with a hollow plastic plug (which is removed later) - the void has been filled with urethine foam... Not foam latex. Therefore no priming is necessary or protective layers added etc. The head is still very flexible but the difference is it will last a long time. Thanks to Wampa for the suggestions there ;)

There were a few puppets made for empire so there are bound to be colour variations

I still say your gonna need a basecoat on there, foam latex needs to be sealed if you want it to last a few years, but differences of opinion are what makes this place so fun to visit :p

Ah so its a cold foam then, i get it now, i also use polyfoam, nice stuff.I didnt know that yoda was not screen used, interesting, where did you find that out?.
Happy holidays by the way. :)

Happy Xmas.

I've been liasing with Nick Maley... A former employee of Stuart Freeborn., who built the original Yoda puppets. He told me about the exhibition displays :)

Is it my eyes or does Yoda have a "fu manchu" look going on there? It looks like he has some hair coming out the sides like a moustache.

If you're refering to this pic its the way it been dressed and it isn't quite correct with the eyes to deep behind the eyelids and the tash is to prominent.

Hi guys,

I just thought I'd show you the mouth expressions I managed to acheive today when playing around with my fully cored out Latex Yoda head.

Helps to passed a lazy hour talking to yourself in Yoda speal :lol

I would think every Star Wars fan already owns it.

It's simply a grab taken from the Empire documentary found on the DVD bonus disc. There is a behind the scenes section on Yoda.

uhh...

WOW...

:confused

the pic of the side with mouth closed... that is movie accurate down to the wrinkle, looks like hes concentrating, or frustrated at luke.

WOW.

yeah, the head was almost perfect anywho... but to see this articulation to face expression... i need one.

even not painted and weathered it looks awesome. and in that way seems like something even a newb could paint up (not like you pros though.) and still get really great results with kinda darker green browns etc. sorta wash type dealio...

sorry, im a bit excited. :confused

yeah...

great work as always cyb.
