:eek

why oh why dont some of you talented mofo's work for these companys?

why cant we get better sculpts from the start?

im not saying i could do what you did, but there are others like you with that talent to capture a likeness on a small scale, so why cant we have figures that have masters that are this good?

why?

anyway, stunning.

i would love to have a fig/statue with that accurate of a face sculpt. very impressive.... :thumbsup :thumbsup
[/b]

Totally agree with you...

:eek

i just went out and bought these two figures because of these head sculpts...

Darn you REPLICA PROP FORUM.......Darn you all to heck.

:D

ok, just a few Aragorn pics before I go cook dinner for my other half (tuna steak with pan fried new potatoes and peas..mmmm)

as usual a couple of before shots and then some during and after shots. Basically after looking at it I figured that the sculpt was fine as it was, it was the dodgy eyes, too-high eyebrows and poo coloured thick beard paintjob that were letting it down. And the clothes looked WAY too brand-new, with no wear and tear, no rough edges, and the coat looked like it was made of shiny rubber.

The outfit was done with a combination of sandpaper to take away the shine, watered down mud coloured paint to do the same, the bottom edges were roughened up with everything from scissors to screwdrivers and everything in between, the inner jacket thing was soaked in dark watercolour paint as it was much to bright in colour, and it was stitched at the back to pull it in tighter. The underneath shirt was also painted darker and stitched shut to give a better collar line.

everything was then weathered with various dry brushes and splashes of various colours of mud till the required look was achieved. Anyway, enough rambling.... here's the pics, lol

Ya know, I haven't been truly inspired on this board for a long time, but this has inspired me. Your work is fantastic and I admire the time, effort, and attention to detail you've brought to these figures. I picked up a couple of the star wars figures and they're very nice...but you have taken it to whole new level. Great job, and thank you for sharing.

Honestly. Love the Anakin, the Obi-Wan not so much. You clearly have the skills. Try again.
[/b]

Try again?.?.

Try again?.?.?.

Why the hell should he "try again"?

Just to please you?

HAH.

He did a hell of a job resculpting both of these and is proud of his work (and rightly so). If you don't like it, then you have two choices:

1) Do a better job yourself;
2) Offer constructive criticism.

If you're not going to do one of those two things, STFU and keep your opinion to yourself.

Try again?.?.?.
The arrogance is baffling.

All those sculpts are about 50 levels above frackin amazing. They're all marvelous, that Anakin looks almost like a photo likeness. Wow, just wow.

I want that Aragorn. It looks AMAZING.

I'd love to see you fix Neca's Tumnus.

All three are amazing. Vast-improvements over the previous jobs...and I'm very impressed. Like some have already said, if you get the lighting and angle right, the shot almost looks realistic. Any other gems you've been working on/hiding then...as I'd love to see them?
If the sideshow version came like that...or if I had your talents, I reckon I'd definetely buy all three of them. Brilliant stuff.

You've vastly improved the original paintjob on all of those figures. Really--on the Aragorn I'd say in particular, where the original doesn't even resemble the actor, while yours is an amazing likeness.

Everything has been said. Just another jaw dropping job :eek. You really bring those statues to life. :thumbsup Congratulations, you're very, very skilled

thank you kind people. Seeing as I've received such a warm welcome with these, I'll post any future ones I do also....

and when you get bored of them, you can tell me lol

To whoever asked... I just use regular acrylics. Cheap artists ones from a tube mostly

thanks again.... an absolutely wonderful welcome :)

Darren

I can't tell if this is Aragorn about to face his most fearless enemy.... or standing shoulder to shoulder with his bravest ally... :lol

Fantastic work. I have to agree with all the others telling you just how incredible your work is. Inspiring and incredible.

One thing that freaks me out though. Your repaint of Aragorn, hairless on your head really is kinda creepy. It looks so much like Vigo on your thumb that I had to take a second look to see his face wasnt Photoshopped on. Thats a compliment.

Nice work, please do a run.

Just my opinion, but why not do the custom job yourself? It may not turn out as great as these, but at least there wasn't any recasting of a licensed item involved.
