Re: Nova Prime (post-Annihilation)

This thread is not about what others are selling and any problems/issues that you may have with that seller. It appears those issues are regrading sales on another forum and therefore should be dealt with there.

Please give Sleeping Lionheart's thread the respect that it deserves and refrain from any further discussion of what items you sell, or issues that you are having with a sale on another forum. Thanks.

i ripped the seam down the front of body suit so i could install the padding. what i did was out of craft foam cut the shapes of the torso armor/muscle detail and hot glue the to a sheet of uncut foam then cut the sandwich in to and sew along the valleys in between the peices and i plan on hand sewing over it again just to bring out a little bit more definition but im VERY surprsied i got it to work first run without trial and error

heres a veiw of it from the inside

and since i decided to ditch my idea of using my abs i have lying around what i did was cut some aluminum sheeting into pieces for my belt than hot glue my gold fabric around the top edges and strecthed it over the face and hot glued it down to make the buckle and belt and i plan on doing this for the shoulder fore arm shin and peck armors parts of it

ijust gotta redo the buckle i meausred out everything except the buckle and it doesnt match up with the way novas buckle should. and i plan on riveting on side of the buckle down and just using velcro to get it on and off.

im going by a very simplistic theme by not over complicating or re inventing of the wheel haha.

tell me what you think or any advice or critiquing,
about a month until emerald city comic con

Re: Nova Prime (post-Annihilation)

That body suit turned out quite good! It looks like you had a bit of a problem with the thread tangling up a bit in that pic of the foam but overall it looks really good. Congrats. :thumbsup

Re: Nova Prime (post-Annihilation)

yeah at the center of the chest especially the center will be cover by a touch lamp but i have a crazy idea for the lights that JUST enough to work

Re: Nova Prime (post-Annihilation)

@ warlickjacoby thanks ive been watching your iron man suit and its coming along awesome

i just put the suit on and quickly taped on the chest belt and one shoulder and it made giggle haha it looks awesome. i am really surprised theres hasnt been to many hiccups but sewing on the neck/colar after the fact is gonna be a little bit of a headache

BAHAHA im impatient so i used doubkle sided tape to stick the chest plates haha.
and with the center light sewd a pocket out of some scrap and sewn it on haha score 2 for yankee ingenuity and the shoulder pauldrons i had some i think nylon or plastic bands?? the chin strap from the helmet whatever its made of i hot glued to one corner and cut through the shoulder of the sleeve and pulled it through and hot glue to close of the loop.

and also hot glued the aluminum to the helmet....home depot was closed last night and couldnt pick up and jb kwik from walmart so i had to work with what i had and im very si=urprised with how well something as simple as hot glue is holding. i have to put some serious pull to yank it off so its on there good.

and my left shoulder sits a little crocked when my arms are down so just gotta fix that. and i know somewhere around my home i have some military boots i got for free on craigslist last summer that would work perfectly but cant find the.

so the helmet is coming along only daunting tasks that lay before me that are forseeable are making the gloves and back to the blasted turtle neck/collar i really dont want to have to rip the seams and do it but i wish i had remebered to put it on when i shouldve haha

as always any thoughts comments or critiquing is welcomed with open arms

Re: Nova Prime (Annihilation) 75 % full suit test photos

sooo i got ahold of racermachx about his awesome nova helmets the only problem outside it not being ready until around the end of the month is i have a 25 inch head and his helmet fits about a 24 so my head is just a tad too big (or helmet is tad too small either or) i asked him if there was a way to maybe sand the inside a little to gain more clearance without ruining it but havent heard back just yet.

as far as my attempt at the helmet myself im liking the progress but its definetly amatuer

Re: Nova Prime (Annihilation) Helmet Progress

i went to take few more test shots and mah phone needs more juice

im debating whether or not to make the gold armor on the chest bigger
any opinions?

Re: Nova Prime (Annihilation) Helmet Progress

The build looks really good, very impressed with the chest light idea:thumbsup

A couple suggestions for some tweaking; tighten up your sleeve seams if you can, and if you have access to an airbrush you might consider painting some highlights/definition on you torso armor. It will help bring out some of the detail you worked hard on and break up the blue a bit.

Re: Nova Prime (Annihilation) Helmet Progress

@dash rendar thanks ive debated on touching up with an airbrush and ill reconsider now i have a like mind haha and are you on cosplay? i recognize that hawkeye

@boozebegood you can bet on it
