Its been so great having access to a screen used bike whenever to check details and paint colors.

I found Pee-wee's bike and I didn't find it at Pedal Pusher. I found Pee-wee's bike at Hermosa Beach Cyclery for sale for $800.

Out of curiosity, are the 'fender flaps' never showing up on eBay or am I just missing them? I have had a saved search for these things for like 5 - 10 years and only seen the right ones (wrong color) show up maybe once at the beginning. Even if they're rare, it seems like these things should have hit a little more frequently than that.

I happened across one in a local antique store locally, but I’ve never seen any pop up on eBay. If you get your hands on a real one you’ll see why..the plastic is really bad and they are quite cheap. I’d have to imagine they weren’t very popular. I’ll ask Charlie from the Pedal Pusher shop (who built the bikes for the film) why those were used and report back. I imagine the shop was able to buy a large quantity cheaply from a distributor (notice there’s no grey color listed)..you’d need 28 flaps to outfit all 14 bikes made for the film

Hi, what are people using for wheels having a hard time wanted to make sure the front ones were correct so the spiral disk sits right. Thank you

There's very little clearance between the disks and the bicycle fork. Some people have actually made curved/ conical ones.

It is really tight in the front

Screen used bikes you a generic (I think Joy Tech) front hub. I’ve seen extra washers used on screen bikes between the crown and legs..presumably to space the legs out a bit. I’ve done this and it helps. See pic of screen used

How do you keep tension on the brake handle
Safety wire. I put the housing in the lever, then put a small zip tie around the housing so it doesn’t slip out of the lever, then hold the lever out with wire. This is how it’s done on screen used.

I desperately need some help with the handlebars and grips. I ended up getting donkey grips off eBay, listed as fitting 7/8". I also ordered Wald 898 from Amazon, however, they don't seem to fit (grips are too large). Every distributor for Wald 898 says it's 1" -- if anything, I'd think that the grips would just fit too snug, but they're huge. Do they make different sizes of the Wald 898, or did I purchase the wrong size grips? The grips also did not come with a hole for the streamers, however, I was able to punch a hole out easily with a leather punch.

Whoops! Nevermind. It looks like 1 of the 2 grips I got are different diameter because they’re meant for a throttle. If anyone knows where I can get two of the same, please let me know!

Most of the sets out there are going to have one larger grip for the throttle. Just wrap your bar with electrical tape until it fits in your good to go.
