R.I.P. Toys R Us

Funny enough, there's an existing Chuck E. Cheese right next to that old Kmart in that same shopping center. It'd be hilarious if they gave them a retro sign too. People driving by would think they time traveled.

Someone could make "Eighties World" as a theme park attraction. I swear it would do well. Seems to have more hold and staying power than any other decade, certainly entertainment industry can't quit it.

So, they overpriced themselves out of business once and reopened with the same business strategy? Genius!

Reminds me of KayBee toys before it closed. Expensive mall toy store that was fun to browse, but we rarely purchased anything that was not in the bargain bin.

KayBee toy store. I loved to go in there every now and then when on break while working at the movie theater.
I found this small Falcon around 2003 for about $12. It's like 7 or 8 inches long, so not too bad. Now that would be like $30..
and if made from legos....probably $80.
I repainted it a few years back though.

I do miss the toy stores from back in the day.

KayBee. Slowly I turned, step by step...

*ahem* Sorry. To show how long I hold a grudge, it still upsets me remembering when KB bought Toy Liquidators, and turned 'em into their own, limited clearance aisles.

Well, for some of us, nothing has changed.
