Rambo Gear

The new offical Rambo 4 Knife is made from 1080 Carbonsteel..not bad for a replica. The most RamboIII-Knifes are scaled..but the new one is full scale!:love

Here are the pics from my costume from last weekend. Sorry, forgot to remove the red eye!

With the black colour in your face and the blood,it looks better...very cool Rambooutfit!:love

That costume needs more steroids....

Just saw the movie. It was good, but short. What was it, about 1 hr 15 min.? That .50 cal really rips stuff up.

How's the boot search?

nice outfit, ive always wanted those knives , any good place to get them for less than 100- ish(ebay rate)?

also , did you have to custum paint the bow?
I have the same one...i think, but its in some green camo pattern..

I just read this and I am BLOWN AWAY by Gil Hibbens generousity in helping you finish your knife! that is really nice of him!
hellava guy!

Well, I decided to make my own knife. I went to the tractor supply store and bought a two inch wide piece of steel. I had no experience making knives and to be honest, I'm not that handy when it comes to making stuff myself. I wanted that homemade look though. So I took what I had (dremmel, bench grinder, sand paper) and I got to work.

Gil Hibben's (creater of both the Rambo III and the Rambo IV knives) wife saw the pics I posted over on the StalloneZone. They gave me a few tips and I eliminated the grind marks as best I could and took everything down to bare metal.

Since I had no way to heat treat it, Gil graciously offered to touch the knife up and put the correct finish on it at a very reasonable price! I also commissioned him to make me a custom sheath.

A couple of things about this knife.

-I made it to scale with the UC Rambo III knife in order to mod a UC sheath and use it(that idea was scrapped but I had already cut out the knife). Therefore, this knife is roughly 16 1/2 inches long as opposed to the actual knife which is like 18 3/8.

-Since I will be wearing my costume to cons and such, this knife has no blade whatsoever. It is completely blunt. Hopefully this will enable me to wear it without peace tying it so I can have it out for photo ops.

Not bad for a weeks work huh?

More pics to come when I get the knife back today.
Don't you mean edge

I finally got around to seeing the movie last weekend (just picked up the new collectors set of DVDs in the tin). Nice work on your costume! Really cool that Gil finished up your knife. I'm going to have to get some of those pants. I normally wear carpenter or cargo pants, so those would be close to normal for me, PLUS they'd be a prop! :D

Good job! :thumbsup

I got my pants yesterday. They fit perfectly! :) Nice and comfy - just like the carpenter pants that I wear daily, except they're dark olive instead of khaki-colored.

My only gripe is that they're button fly (just like BDU pants), and the button holes are a tad too small, so it's a struggle with some of the buttons. Hopefully they'll loosen up after washing.

Both back pockets and both leg pockets close via 2 snaps on each pocket's flap. There are waist adjustment straps on the sides of the waist band, which adjust with buttons.

All-in-all, a nice pair of pants that double as a prop! To think, a week ago I was watching the new Rambo movie for the first time, and today I'm wearing his pants! It's a strange world we live in! :lol

That said, I think I'll order another pair using the 10% off coupon that came with my pants... :D:thumbsup
