Re-introducing an old friend!

Thanks a lot guys. I just wish you could all see him in real life, he looks so much cooler. damn, this is one tough prop to take a good and true photos of. I'll try and take some new pics this weekend.

Jez, damn man. That weathering job of yours sure must have taken some big balls to pull off. You really went to town on that ANH falcon attack "I'm melting look". Outstanding bro, now that's how you weather stuff. :lol

Cheers,

Steve.

Hey Steve - Nice work - I'm getting ready to do the same thing soon - Can you give some details on how you installed the russrep eyes?

Also Zorg - Got the package - Fan-Fricken-Tastic. My sincere thanks.

Thanks again. The problem with the Russrep eye grills (mine were from he's last run) is that they are a bit to big for the "zorg" heads eye sockets. Also, the fiber glass on the inside were quite thick on my cast which made the eye sockets too deep. This meant that the eye grills didn't extend all the way out. In order to get them to fit properly I had to dremmel off a lot of fiber glass both from the back (to make them more shallow) and around the sockets to widen them up a bit. No problem at all........IF you do it before you plate the helmet which I didn't. Well it worked out anyway but I was scared to death that I would damage the chrome by misstake.

Anyway, here's a new pic which shows the weathering better. However, now he's much to dark instead. :unsure Well, at least the pic gives you a better idea how the weathering patterns really look.

Nice work Steve... that is one authentic looking Threepio head you got there :)

The pics with his eyes lit-up remind me of the scene in ESB where we first see Artoo and Threepio in the Hoth Rebel Base's docking bay...

Be careful what you say.... when you open your curtains tomorrow morning there might be a few dozen RPF'ers on your front lawn. :lol

Cheers,
John
