reCreating the Nostromo Crew Uniforms (Pic Heavy)

Sry, no updates for a long time and I also forgot to take any WiP pics [emoji51][emoji37][emoji849] But now here it is: my V3 Nostromo Crew jacket!

The RAF jacket is an awesome replica by Silvermans (UK) and the price was reduced to 50£ !!! so if there’re any interests in the jacket, grab it as long as it’s still available !
It even features original parts like the hidden hood or this
flight-slip ( I don’t know how it’s called [emoji23])

Next I dyed the jacket to match a more dark green, but did not manage to add a light bluish shine like the original one got...
The patches are imported from Thailand, there’s just a small deficit, a ring of the right planet is not completely filled with yellow stitching...
The lacing is basically the same like the V1, I just shortened the slots where the cord runs through. To sew them on I had to remove the complete sleeves, but wasn’t able to attach them again like they were originally. So I had to cover this unaesthetic crease/seam with a strap (same like the lacing)

Last thing was to add the white piping on the collar, I know the original was pink, but ahmmm [emoji848] not very suitable for school or leisure [emoji23] getting a nice and clean seam on it wasn’t very easy, but I guess I have done an acceptable result on it...
All in all I’m very happy with it, though there’re some not very succeeded spots on it, but they’re conspicuous, not that in-your-face like...

Not bad all in all. Just a few things for me that could improve the overall look: removing the pocket on the left arm, replacing the cords with thinner ones and removing the hood.;)

Yeah thx, to change the cord is definitely a pretty good idea... funny how I could oversee this obviously detail [emoji19]
I also wanted to remove the pocket, but the original jacket did got them too, so I decided to keep ‘em

I left the hood too, cause you can hide it inside the jacket
(pic. number 3) so it’s not visible from the outside and I can still unpack it if it’s a rainy day...

You're right...and that's something I always found bizarre about the jacket. My taste of course; but I put it on lazy costuming. It would've taken 2 min. for the costume designer to remove that pocket. Again, my 2 cents worth;)

A few more updates:
I reworked the jacket (again [emoji849])
It’s a big improvement from a totally incorrect homemade jacket to this:

Ok, I was pretty happy with the first jacket back than and thought it looked veeery cool, but time after time i did realize that it isn’t, of course... so I ordered the Silvermans replica, attached the details and dyed it... and was very happy how this turned out!
But than again... light green color? Polyester lacing? Thick wite piping on the collar?! Again I was NOT happy so I started it over AGAIN:
dyed it more dark green, all cotton lacing, weathered the patches and added thin, light pink piping.
now I’m finally finished with this project, satisfied, happy and proud of it... and I also learned much about sewing through this odyssey!
But the jacketmania is not over yet, I ordered dark brown faux leather, darkbrown cotton and patches for Parker’s bomber jacket
(Brett’s jacket is still on the list too!)

That’s gonna work way smoother than the work on Kane’s jacket, I promise!
Last but not least, I started working on the crew shirt and ash’s science officer shirt:

Basically I just modified an old shirt from my father and a used German army shirt that I got from eBay.
The markings on the white shirt shows the missing components, patches are ordered too, they may need 1-2 weeks til they’re here...
