Red dwarf is coming back

I am a big Red Dwarf fan and have the entire series and Back to Earth on DVD. I also feel that the show may have run it's course BUT... if they brought back the original writers plus Norm Lovett as Holly, the show may stand a chance.

All I ask is that they finally give the show an ending. I hate the idea of the crew just drifting out in orbit forever, headed for earth but without ever getting home. The characters don't deserve an ambiguous ending. Let Dave Lister come home and fulfill his destiny as the last human in the universe.

I'm just happy at the prospect of seeing a proper "finale" to the series. RD wasnt only a comedy but a very clever scifi story. Even if it cant match up to the past seasons, I feel it deserves an official ending.

Now I'm going to have to watch it again on Netflix. I haven't seen it in years, and I'm not sure I ever got around to the last season. If I did, it was out of order, because I only remember bits and pieces of the plot. Are the seasons available on Netflix the remastered versions, or the nice, unmessed-with ones?
I'll still watch the new ones, but I'm cautious.
I also really liked the books they put out. What I'd like to see as a nice sendoff and resolution for the characters instead of a new show would be for one or both of the original writers to do a novel chronicalling the final chapter.

I actually enjoyed all of Red Dwarf including s7 and s8 and even Back to Earth. I'm really excited to see where they pick up on a new series and how it'll go. If anything...maybe it'll give them an excuse to make a toy line like the Character Options Doctor Who toys :D

First two seasons were brilliant but as soon as they made Kryten a regular it went on a serious downhill slide.
