the grips were plastic, so if I sanded them, I'd be looking at bare plastic. I may go a bit darker on them.

Ups...I always thought they´d be wood, my bad.

But even if they´re the same as the grips on a Denix, you can archieve great result by lightly sanding them to get rid of the shiny surface and make them more wood-like. Then just apply a black wash and you´re done.

Anyway...I honestly dig the weathering you did!

Is this MR version designed after a real Mauser? Would real Mauser grips fit? Or would you run into the same "reshaping" issues that you'd find on a Denix or MGC?

I don´t know if MR already changed the base gun for the ESB blaster from Denix to another C96 model? I only have the Han ANH EE....

But judging by the pics you´ll have the same problem with fitting real grips to it, the frame is too big.
