Replicating Dot Matrix Printer Paper? (Tron)

I thought I'd do up the printed file from the end of Tron, but I don't have a dot matrix printer. Can't even seem to find any of the paper.

Anyone have any suggestions?
Or any one have a dot matrix printer want to do a run? :lol

Worse comes to worse, I could just hole punch the sprocket holes into a normal piece of paper.

I can't justify $50 shipping for a case of something I can't even print on properly. Maybe I could find a local place that would be willing to do a few.

If you have the font available, why not make up a 'master' and have such laser printed onto said stock sheets at a local fast copy shop ?

You know it's funny that I think my father not only kept our old dot matrix but some paper and the computer that goes with it as well. I'll call him tomorrow.

The paper should still be available 'round town...if you only want a few sheets, stop by the local Motel 6 and ask the folks at the desk. Their whole company has refused to upgrade from DOTMatrix printers and still use them at the front desk for registering guests....

a lot of places do this because the dot matrix supposedly is a sounder investment lasting longer than other printers.

as for you getting a dot matrix printer i would suggest going to a thrift store as I bet you will find one some one donated for a couple bucks.
and yes the paper is still available at most paper and business supply stores.

Dot matrix printers aren't a sound investment nowadays. Parts are getting harder, and harder to find. Newer technicians don't know how to work on these, and training is non-existent. There still are Production Printers that are laser that use the tractor holes as timing, so we should see tractor feed paper for a while yet.

Format a TXT file with enough CRs to ensure your text will fall on the paper exactly where you want it.

Checked with my dad and he threw his old dot matrix out, but we still have the computer. :lol

Found out some interesting info.
Apparently the closeup prop differs a little from the long-shot prop. The full text of the original is supposed to be in the movie novelization. I'll get that a do a longer version as well.

another thing to be considered is that kinkos will punch holes in what ever you are wanting and the placement is something you can have customized so if you had a piece of said paper you could measure that and have them do the hole punching and just have it done on both sides. this would allow for a large enough run of them so all who want one of these could have one and the cost would be like 15 or 20 cents each I am betting.

The holes will simulate the paper, the paper has the holes, as well as the perforations, so that you can rip off the tractor hole strips and have a 8.5 x 11 inch (roughly) paper left over.

Doctor's Offices and Car Dealers still use Dot-Matrix printers. They are required for doing carbon-copies. You should be able to find the paper at any office supply company. Print on that with the font mentioned above and you should be good to go.

I have some paper, true vintage stuff I could send your way, but being 1" wider it might not fit in many laser or inkjet printers... My dot matrix just took a dump a few months ago, I have to see what happened to it, until then I can't help in that area...
