Hi folks. I was wondering if we could discuss those clan sabers and the weird parts that go into them.... AND things like Mace Windus nice saber, Anakins AOTC saber, etc..

I don't have good reference on any of these.

The plo koon one (or the mace windu Ep 1 saber) emitter discs look a little blue, and the lower half looks like the Darth Maul saber honestly

I have reasons for asking, I'm putting a post together in the meantime

Following. I love the clan saber designs, but have never found much beyond the blanking caps, LEDs, and fender washers.

Honestly so much of those sabers and the PT sabers in general were totally machined or cast from scratch that there are very few found parts to be identified. I know some of the emitters on say the Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Maul sabers used Fender washers. It's interesting because some of the pictures of the ones that got auctioned off years ago were made of steel and you can tell because they've rusted.

Needle bearings similar to these were used on some of the EpI saber. I think the one that was Mace Windu's, possible 1 other.

Also the 10 segment LED bar was also used on a couple

The old Parts of Star Wars site still has most of this info for the EpI sabers - -------The Prequel Parts of Star Wars--------

Here's what I have for the council sabers, these are all real/production made props. None of these are my own photos, will remove upon request.

RPF, you guys really are amazing, thank you! Good kick start. I actually see these thrust bearings in this cast too
498734_0.jpeg

I may have found those clear LEDs but probably not. I don't know if the body ones are the same as the Obi Wan emitter ones, they poke out so much. (also wtf is up with that cut-out in the emitter of the Anakin saber)

Have we figured out that the blue stuff is in this emitter?
Screen Shot 2022-02-28 at 9.18.14 AM.png

I see the disc with the holes, the LEDs, the thrust bearings and ....those LEDs in Anakins saber show up in a lot of places, I have one

You know, I did see a piece of Marconi aircraft equipment with those black knobs...

Here's what I have for the Anakin AOTC. One of my personal favorite sabers. Again, these are of the original prop, not my photos, if they are yours I will remove upon request.
Love this saber, but I don’t think anyones ever done a run that’s been 100% accurate. Also a lot of these look like polished/scratched aluminum finish, but all the replicas I’ve seen are chromed? Are my eyes playing tricks on me?

Also, I’m apparently that crazy guy that wants static, hero, as production made, replicas. Everyone wants to install these and make them light up, but I just want them to feel like the actual props!

Most of these seem to be mixed media. Even the hero props seem to have cast and painted resin along with metal sections.

You are correct, the original was polished aluminum.

I am the same way, I would love a replica of the actual movie prop that is as accurate as possible. I have been working on a model of one, but it's in the queue behind some other projects.

Okay whew. I’ve gotten dragged into so many arguments on FB when I ask of anyone has an aluminum finished Anakin AOTC and everyone comes out of the woodwork telling me the Tusken Slayer is the best Anakin AOTC replica ever made and that it’s chromed…

They applied a thin coat of Photoshop in that picture. Hard to come by. Very expensive.

JK. What's going on there is, when they made the AOTC visual dictionary, they took the photos that they had of the council sabers from TPM and slightly modified them in photoshop to make out as though new characters had distinct sabers. So, Fisto got a little blue on his emitter, and Luminara got a little gold on her pommel. But, largely on set they were just using leftover stunt sabers from the original batch that they made for TPM

The old Parts of Star Wars site still has most of this info for the EpI sabers - -------The Prequel Parts of Star Wars--------

If someone can determine the right size and pin down a source for the needle bearings, I kiss you on the lips!
I'm really sick of ordering the wrong found parts and only discovering it months later when they finally show up form who knows where.

The only person I know who incorporated the bearings into replicas was Oz. Not sure if he's even still around or if he would cooperate. I'd be shocked if the POSW guys didn't know. With the resin casts floating around you would think someone could positively id them by now.

Thanks! Lol do you also happen to know if Mace windus emitter is completely drilled out? (Side holes meet in the center hole)

I have some new part info.. incoming. I gotta find me some of these straight sided washers!

The first bit I would like to add is some missing information on the red knobs. That kind of colored fitting is going to be very expensive - as it's usually a hydraulic item. I believe some of the Falcoln tools use hydraulic fittings too

I'll quote from someone in the industry on knurled and threaded pieces (most have hex heads, or are coupling/pipe and hose fittings):

"they would just be used as a plug or dust cap. to keep contaminates from entering a pipe or any kind of hole that may happen to fits that thread. a lot of these plugs and caps are mainly used to plug lines that are disconnected during maintenance. fluid will start to leak and you need to cap the line before you lose all the system fluid. hydraulics, fuel, oil, etc."

I've got a link to some incorrect ones, but I'm picking them up anyway for research purposes and for custom sabers lol. I'll report back.

Here are a few that I’ve collected from my work in the aerospace industry:
