Sapper Morton helmet build

Gorgeous. This might be obvious, but I never noticed how reminiscent those two mandibles are of the Spinner and other flying cars. Absolutely gorgeous. So much production design for cinema is so sleek these days, it was great to see a return to the solid, clunky 80s angles. So much weight and presence.

Hey guys. I'm the lucky gent who commissioned this lid from Dieter. His build skills are insane, as evidence by the complexities of this helmet.

I just finished a bunch of additional paint/weathering work, and a simple display setup. Check out the final results below!
I so badly want to convert this thing to a bust with the rubber suit. Might happen in time.

Looks awesome, and that's some neat FDM clean up work as well.
Cheers! Yeah getting into the small grooves on the side plate was a bit of work. I also used Tamiya putty grey, fills in nicely and isn't hard to sand. 3M Spot putty ends up being too light for that.

My google fu has failed me hard. Is the neck collar bit something you can purchase? I have a different helmet that requires a very similar looking accordion thing. I was thinking of making some loopy mould and casting the collar out of silicone. This fabric looks more breathable and comfortable though! Any help is appreciated!

Edit: oh my goodness that's extremely beautiful! Oh no, hope I didn't commit a faux pas and bump a dead post. I should have lurked longer
