Shawshank Redemption Replica Props

This is awesome! I am very new to the prop world but my first attempt was a Shawshank prop for my friend's birthday because it's his favorite movie. I found a period correct Geology book that I hollowed out for a rock hammer. I thought the Geology book was a nice twist. I'll have to post a picture when I get a sec

Anybody that's looking for one, there's a correct hinged Benson's toffee tin on Ebay right now... The buy it now with shipping would be $32 (for my shipping address), a heck of a deal if you're after one of these... I still have a couple, otherwise I'd have already gotten it :) Somebody better snap it up, or I might break down and get it :)

I just snagged my fourth tin this week. So, about the clear bag inside? Any info on size? Again, I was just planning to cut the zipper of a large ziploc bag. Any better options out there?

Does anybody know the correct brand of the cb/radio microphone?

It has distinctive lines on the side of the "head", and can't find any like this!

Search "vintage desk microphone" on eBay or google and browse them. There are a lot similar and could have been a hybrid of two put together.

Well I can't find any. I wonder if my ip is blocking some of the listings because I believe I'd need a radio licence to actually import one, I'll have to ask at the post office if these will work. But it's not transmitting so it should be fine, but I tried to bid on one the other day and eBay wouldn't let me because of this licence thing...

I only can see turners microphones. None of them have the lines on the sides...

That is strange, lol.
I search for vintage Realistic Desk Microphone and find the ones with lines on the sides. But most have the knob on the base which is missing on the film piece.
But searching just Vibtage Desk Microphone, all the Tuner microphones have the closer base. That is why I was wondering if they didn't merge the two in the prop.

I don't see any :(! I don't think they actually combined two of these as they seem to come in one piece . We just have to find the correct brand

Hi everyone,

This is my first post in this amazing forum. Thank you for all the amazing information! I got myself a scene correct Queen Mary Box and a Red's compass. I am however trying to understand the harmonicas. Are there two different versions in the movie? I recall two scenes, one Andy handing Red a harmonica as a gift, and the other is at the night Andy escaped.

Can someone please help me and let me know if there are indeed two different ones? I'd appreciate the brand names too!

Thanks

I've just been collecting tins over the years. I have 7 so far. Will, ideally, start making more contents and fill the tins and head to eBay. I did replicate Andy's postcard a while ago. Printed on card stock, gloss finish on front, uncoated on back and added ultragloss coating to the front. Actual vintage postage stamp and had a rubber stamp made for the postmark.
