Snake Eyes 2009

I had the opportunity to talk to Ray Park about this on the ride from the airport to Dragon Con. He seems pretty excited about the film (of course he isn't exactly an unbiased source). He also said that this was the weirdest and most uncomfortable costume he's ever had to wear.

Considering his past, that's saying something.:wacko

At Dragon Con, I heard from another costumer who knows Ray a little, and he said the movie was going to be pretty crappy. I guess Ray said it's geared towards a younger crowd, to be a marketing tool for new toys like the original cartoons were to our generation.

maybe the mouth is really his, just painted black?
there are so many versions of snake eyes. i think i recall one where he had a mouth, and silver sunglasses. at least they resembled sunglasses

yeah they butchered GI Joe he some kindof peacnik international douche force ow probably out to save the environment or some crap cant these people see remaking these stories for kids is a losing proposition, see the prequels and jar jar as example and these movie producers should bite it

The mouth really bothers you guys? Really? Personally I love it. I think it's meant to convey some kind of fabric being stretched over his face and body and in sculpting the mouth...and the rest of the entire anatomy, it's simply meant to look like a skin tight body suit. The same technique used for the 89 Batman film costume.
Anyway, I love the costume...and everything I've seen from the costumes of these guys so far.

Bothers the hell out of me. Ruins the look of Snake eyes for me. I'm fine with everything else about Snake Eyes' appearance. Too bad this movie is going to be one giant turd.

Yo. Joe.

I think the producers stay up late at night trying to find ways to ruin the G.I. Joe brand....:unsure

I agree, from what I've seen it looks to be a fun ride of a movie and definitely a trip down memory lane from my childhood. Granted it isn't an '85 Snake Eyes action figure in person, but it's close. I've been considering putting together this costume for a few months now and most of the pieces seem readily available (just saw a sword knock off on eBay yesterday) except the rubber portions/visor, and was hoping someone here with some latex experience was thinking of taking it on...

they do, by foolishly thinking that dumbing down a movie for kids or the whole family it will generate mass appeal instead it just pisses us off and makes for a crap movie, look at T3 more funny than scary, robocop was gret rated R and a great idea, it didnt sell much toy wise because the toys were crap

t...look at T3 more funny than scary...
:wacko
Never really thought that T3 was suppose to be "scary" i think the Terminator films were action films not horror movies - at least for me. :unsure

Still they will be lucky if this film does T3 numbers. I don't love the mouth but everything else looks good to me so I will check it out.:thumbsup

I imagine the fact that a fully latex mask over the mouth would sufficate the actor. Personally i think they should have started with the 1980 "goggled" Snakeeyes with the breathing holes. Save the Visor for the....ummm.....sequel.

well as far as all characters involved, Snake Eyes looks the best.. I mean, have you not seen Storm Shadow???? (n)thumbsdown
